Near right; the Dicken's

the places the Slades re-
member fondly from

complete with a church,

EXETER - Alma Langford wel-
comed all the members of the Exet-
er United Church Women to their
December 8 meeting with a poem of
Advent. As part of roll call, each
member explained where she would
be spending Christmas.
The group agreed $500 of the pro-
ceeds from the tea fund would go to-
wards a new place setting of dishes
for the church. Projects for 1995
were discussed, and it was noted the
profits from the annual bazaar were
$4,974. The UCW completed a to-
tal of 19 quilts in 1994, and quilting
will resume on the second Monday
of January in the new year.
Elaine Skinner sang a solo for the
group, accompanied by Florence
Finkbeincr.
Christmas customs in Austria, the
Ukraine, and in Ireland were ex-
plained by Mary Baechlar and Leo-
na Hcrn. and Ruth Elwood spoke on
Christmas in Switzerland.
Wilma Davis concluded the meet-
ing with a piano solo which was en-
joyed by the members.
