Auxiliary raises $25,000for hospital
The South Huron Hospital Auxiliary presented a big cheque to the Hospital Board on Fri-
day. $25,000 was raised through Auxiliary activities in 1994, and the proceeds will be di-
vided up to help create a new clinic, and renovate the x-ray department and waiting room.
Here, in the waiting room, Auxiliary president Marjorie Johns (left) presents the $25,000
to board chairman Bev Skinner.
A raffle of a quilt made by the South Huron Hospital Auxiliary raised about $1,200 for the
organization. Monday moming, Auxiliary volunteer Christine Phillips (left) presented the
quilt to its winner June Hodgson (second from left). Hospital gift shop convenor Mary
Fisher (right) also used the occasion to present a $2,500 cheque, the year's proceeds
from the Auxiliary's hospital gift shop, to Auxiliary treasurer Vera Armstrong.

HENSALL - With the Christmas
season well underway Queensway
Nursing Home residents had a spe-
cial visitor last week who brought
home the special reason of celebrat-
ing Christmas. Jim Olesvary of the
Inter -denominational Christian
Businessmen Group showed resi-
dents "The Movie of Jesus." This is
a wonderfully realistic movie
which depicts the entire Biblical
story of Jesus.
Last week, with the weather in
their favour a group from Queens-
way took off to the Hensall Public
School to preview their Primary
Christmas Concert. The residents
thoroughly enjoyed seeing the little
children singing Christmas songs
and performing skits. Volunteers
drove and helped the residents get
to and from the school.
On Wednesday evening the Con-
servative Mennonite singers visited
the home to share a Christmas pro-
gram. Everyone enjoyed hearing
the singers and look forward to see-
ing them again in 1995. On Thurs-
day evening a group of young peo-
ple visited and entertained with a
• piano recital. Carolyn Regier
planned this event.

Christmas Service
THAMES ROAD - The Christ-
mas service on Sunday morning
was well attended with Rev. Jim

The Responsive Reading was
taken from the service book 'The
Kinds Splendour" Psalm 45.
The choir sang two anthems
"Sleep My Little Jesus" and "The
Star Over Bethlehem" accompa-
nied by the organist Agnes Bray
which were much enjoyed.
The children's hymn was sung
"Away in a Manger" and Rev. All-
sop told the children a story
"Christmas Presents".
The Scripture reading from the
Old Testament - Isaiah 4: 2-7 and
from the New Testament - Colos-
sians 3: 12-17 was read by Kathy.%
Bray.
Rev. Allsop read from Luke 2:
1-14 and explained about each
verse on modern day language.
