CENTRALIA - Christmas prep-
arations are in full swing in the
Centralia area. Neighbours areput-
ting up Christmas lights during this
incredibly mild weather, and the
wonderful aroma of baking sifts
through open doors.
At the United Church on Decem-
ber 1, the U.C.W. organized a de-
lightful evening.
Group I prepared a turkey dinner.
While dishes were being washed
and the tables cleared, the choir
went upstairs to practice. Then
Group II entertained with a variety
program which included readings,
skits, a solo by Lois Wilson, and
the Centralia Main Street Jugband.
Donations of canned goods were
collected for the Huron Christmas
Bureau.
White Gift Sunday was held De-
cember 4, and the service included
many special events. Ross McFalls
organized a band which played
some lively music before the ser-
vice. Jane Smith sang a beautiful
solo.
The Sunday School teachers or-
ganized a presentation by the chil-
dren and choir "What Christmas
Means to Me". White Gifts were
collected to be passed on to the
Christmas Bureau for distribution
to those in need.
Prayers were offered for Marian
McCurdy and her family on the re-
cent death of her mother.
