A
Exeter group home named
in memory of Alma Godbolt
EXETER - The highlight of Thursday's annual
Christmas party of Community Living - South Huron
was the announcement that the Albert street group
home in Exeter would be named the Alma Godbolt
Home.
This was in recognition of her dedicat.on and lov-
ing care to the agency which was originally known as
the South Huron Association for the Mentally Handi-
capped.
Current executive director of Community Living -
South Huron, John Gray said this week, "Alma was a
founding member of our agency and was president at
one time. She was a member of the residential right
up to the time of her death and was very strongly
committed to individuals."
Gray continued, " She was a hands-on person, tak-
ing people to church and was in charge of the Christ-
mas party and knew what every person was contribut-
ing to the dinner for as long as I can remember. and
was t1p be co-chairman of the popular annual event
this y
The idea of naming the home in her honour came
from staff members, not only because of her early in-
volvement, but it is close to her residence for many
years. The Albert street home represents the early his-
tory of the agency.
Others paying tribute to Alma Godbolt's continued
dedication were president Herb Verbeek and Ann
Klungel , another past president and one who has
been involved with the agency and its activities for
many years.
Plaques and a name plate for the home were pre-
sented to George and John Godbolt in memory of
their mother.

ute to the many volunteers who make this project a
very financially satisfactory fund raising endeavour.

From the "interesting fact and find your own
reason why" department: In Canada, more ba-
bies are bom in May than any other month.
The least number are bom in February.
Adolph Hitler had irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure,
heart disease, Parkinson's disease and a sinus condition that
became unbearable in 1944.
Renoir, the French impressionist painter, suffered from rheuma-
toid arthritis. He used very vivid colours in his work. These pig-
ments were made from heavy metals, many of which were toxic
and may have triggered his arthritic condition.
Going away for a holiday this month? Don't forget to take enough
medication with you. If you are going to a tropical area, don't for-
get the sunscreen and check with yourpharmacist to see if your
medication might interact with sunlight causing a skin rash.
