County Library is inviting you
to start planning your financial
future. Learn to save money on
your income taxes, make in-
formed financial decisions, and
to manage a simple investment
program. Shirley Neal, bestsell-
ing author and cable TV host,
will conduct a free admission
seminar entitled "Financial
Strategies for Women" on
Wednesday, November 9 at 7
p.m. at the Grand Bend Library
(238-2067).
Shirley Neal (B.A., B.Ed.,
M.Ed., C.F.P.) is originally
from Sarnia. She is co-author of
the national bestseller "Finan-
cial Strategies for Women: The
Basics" and a vice-president of
the Women's Investment Net-
work .Inc. She became a Finan-
cial Consultant in 1985, and
was Branch Liaison and Train-
ing Co-ordinator for a major in-
dependent Mutual Fund broker
for three years. She was also a
marketing and sales consultant
for a variety of companies and
organizations.
Neal hosted "Money Talk", a
cable TV program designed to
teach people basic money con-
cepts. She has developed many
courses designed for adults in
career development, motivation
and sales training.
Although this seminar is enti-
tled "Financial Strategics for
Women", it covers basic con-
cepts which will benefit anyone.
Both men and women arc wel-
come to attend.
Road superintendent retires after 44 years
with evening celebration at Varna Complex

na Saturday night.

VARNA - Many Varna and area
people were out to the Varna Corn-
plex on Saturday evening to help
Bill Taylor and his wife Helen cele-
brated his retire)nent. He has been
road superintendent for Stanley
Township for 44 years.
A dance was held along with
presentation of gifts from the staff
and council of Stanley Township.
Bill and Helen thanked everyone
for the wonderful evening and the
gifts.
The community wishes them all
the best now and in the years .to
come!
Open house
Helen Keys from Country Charm
has just had her eighth annual Open
House and had many people from
as far away as Kitchener, Guelph,
Stratford, Sarnia, Michigan, Lon-
don etc. tour her beautifully deco-
rated house. Those helping her
were Anna Keys, Brenda Buruma,
Laverne Colclough, Ilene Evans
and Ester Cantleon.
Draw winners were: First prize
Cassandra Postill, Varna; second
prize Marguerite Forsyth, Kings-
ville; and third prize went to Barh
Wilson of Centralia.

The Trends Youth Group will
meet October 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Brucefield Church and the Teen
Set will meet October 27 at 7:30.
Participants are reminded to bring
an addition for the workshop cen-
tre.
Craft show
Partners in Community Living
are having their second annual craft
show on'October 22 from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. at ARC Industries, Dash-
wood. There will he a bake sale ,
lunch room, and over 35 vendors
with a wide variety of crafts, novel-
ties and woodworking. Contact
