EXETER - Leaving 13 runners
on base is what hurt the Exeter
Bantam 1 team on Sunday at the
Western Ontario Baseball Associa-
tion's south division playoff tourna-
ment.
In the semi-final of the nine -team
double knockout event Exeter lost
6-4 to Listowel.

the day and since it was Clinton's
first loss of the tournament, the two
teams will meet again on Wednes-
day. They would have played on
Sunday but regulations state a team
can only play three or Tess games
per day.
Against Listowel, Exeter's Jarrett
Jeffrey went 4 -for -5 at the plate.
Exeter led 3-1 at the bottom of the
fifth but 4 lstowel came back and
scored four runs.
Exeter's Brock Weiss made the
best defensive play of the game as
he turned a triple play in the third.
The second baseman caught a line
drive, stepped on the bag and then
fired to first.
Jeff Reid made two great catches
from his centrefield position both
coming with two out and runners in
scoring position.

over Albanian team
EXETER - The Exeter Fury host-
ed the Albanians in Western On
tario Soccer League action on Sun -I
day corning away with a big 7-3i
win.
The hosts completely dominated
the opening half, jumping into a 5-
0 lead with Pete McAllister scoring
the first four goals as all of those
were set up by Henri DeBruyn.
DeBruyn, who opted to pass in-
stead of shoot on the fourth goal,
scored one himself to make it 5-0.
Early in the second half Shawn
McFalls was ejected for tripping
and the Albanian forward scored on
a penalty kick. The visitors came
back and made it 5-3 but the Fury
put the game out of reach as Dc-
Bruyn scored his second on a head-
er and Mark Brintncll finished the
scoring as he broke down the wing
and picked the corner.
Wednesday in St. Thomas a wide
open game saw the shorthanded
Fury lose 6-3. McFalls, in net for
the injured Tim McAllister made a
few good saves.
DeBruyn scored twice as he
blasted two shots into the upper
part of the net and later set up Dave
Boersma for the other Exeter goal.
DcBruyn just missed his third as he
rocketed a shot off the post.
Last night the Fury and the Exet-
er Centennials played at the Can-
ner's Field for the Exeter Cup.

'LAWNS AND TREES
Trees are a very important part of the landscape but they compete with a lawn for
water nutrients and light Choose trees that provide filtered shade and prune
them regularly Chewrngs fescue is a shade tolerant grass but only certain vari-
eties of Kentucky bluegrass will do well unver trees
Trees should be watered deeply to encourage deep roots which will not compete
with the lawn for water or result in mowoul .lrfficulh@s 11 Is very important That fer-

should not he allowed to accumulate and smother the turf
Lawns and trees provide a beautiful sem', ; but some thought and work must go

A well prepared resume will help you
get the job you are looking for!
A resume detailing an applicant's work history and
education Is extremely helpful to an employer who
is seeking a person for a specific job vacancy.
Your personal resume should accompany
your letter of application.
Here are some guidelines to follow in preparing your resume:
❑ Make it clear, concise and easy to read - and no longer
than two pages
O The resume should be typed on 8 1/2" x 11" white paper
with enough white space to prevent a cluttered look
O Start with your name, address and phone number
O Next under a sub -heading "Work History" detail the
previous jobs you've held - in reverse date order
- that is, last job first.
O Use a separate paragraph for each position and
precede it with the dates you held that position.
O State the job title, a brief description of the
responsibilities - and the results you achieved.
O The next section of your resume should come under the
sub -heading of "Education". Start with the hthest
degree obtained or grade completed, followed by the
name of the institution at which you studied. Follow
this with previous education attainments. At the end,
list any specific instructional courses you have
attended in conjunction with your work.
0 Under the sub -heading "Affiliations", list memberships
and/or offices held in professional or industry
associations.
O Under the sub -heading "Personal Interests" list any
activities which you feel will be of interest to the
employer - such as volunteer work, etc.
Your letter of application and your resume will be the
factors that make the employer decide whether to short
list you for an Interview. So make It as Impressive
as you can - but stick to the facts.
We can help you get an impressive and
professional -looking resume
