Blue Water
residents
picnic at the
beach
ZURICH - Tuesday, residents of
the Blue Water Rest Home trav-
elled to St. Christophers' Beach,
Goderich for a picnic lunch.
Oriole Westlake, Leonard Erb,
Kurt Gebel, Esther Makins, Ruby
Bell, Pearl Miller, Dorothy Bapty,
Edna Johnston, Ellen McGonigal
and Catherine Riehl enjoyed their
sandwiches, cookies, watermelon
and cantaloupe packed by the
kitchen staff. They sampled ice
cream cones purchased at the beach
store and kept a watchful eye on
the many couples with their chil-
dren enjoying a swim in Lake Hu-
ron. Cathy Shantz, Adjuvant, Glen
Thiel, driver and Kim Geoffrey,
Students Nurses' Aid assisted the
residents with their days' activities.
Wednesday evening, the resi-
dents tapped their toes to the old
time music provided by Fred Har-
burn on violin, Ivan Norris, banjo,
Nelson Howe, violin, Andrew Pat-
rick, violin, Jim Young, guitar,
Rena Young, piano and Mozart.Ge-
linas Sr. on banjo.
Rev. Gani Lazaro, Zurich United
Church, conducted Thursday- after-
noon Chapel Service. Fr. Matthias
Wronski, St. Boniface Church, Zu-
rich celebrated Mass.
Thursday evening Alice
Knowles, Esther Makins, Hilda
Rader, Ruby Bell, Dorothy Bapty
and Fergus Turnbull joined Cathy
Shantz for a barbecue dinner at Zu-
rich Mennonite Church. Their sup-
per consisted of barbecued chicken,
potato, macaroni and cabbage sal-
ad, rolls, relishes, refreshments and
good old homemade pie of which
there was an abundance.

Marine & General Hospital, Gode-
rich and South Huron Hospital, Ex-
