filled events planned
for Dashwood's
Friedsburg Days

DASHWOOD - Bring out the whole
family for a fun -filled weekend on .July
29 to 31 when the Dashwood Friedsburg
Days are again celebrated.
This year's focus "International Year of
the Family" is the theme of the parade on
Saturday which begins at 11:30 a.m. For
more information call Kathy Hayter 237-
3298.
A lot of new and interesting events are
plannekl for this year's celebrations.
On Friday, July 29, one of the new events is a Bingo planned at 7:00
p.m. at the Dashwood Community Centre.
Saturday's program which begins bright and early has several novel
events and these combined with the regular ones will make an inter-
esting day for the whole family.
Just a few of the new 1994 events for this year scheduled for Sat-
urday are: from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Big V Children's Play Area; 2:00
p.m. The Carry On Cloggers will perform at the community centre;
2:30 to 3:30 a Line Dancing Demonstration is scheduled at the Pa-
vilion: 3:00 p.m. Men's and Women's Open Class Workboot "Tug -o -
War" Registration: 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. Rhine Danube Dancers entertain
at the pavilion and from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. a Youth Dance•is scheduled
at the community centre for all youth from 12 to 15 years of age.
On Sunday, July 31 a new event prepared for this year is a draw for
an oil painting by artist Teresa Jerotnkin. Tickets are available from
any Fricdshurg Days member.
These are just a few of the great events planned for the big weekend.
Come out, bring your family and plan to stay for the day! You will be
entertained with all the different events and will certainly meet a lot of
new friends and will also have the chance to reacquaint with old ones!

Glads to be sold In Hensall
Proceeds from the
glads will go to Epilep-
sy Ontario.

HENSALL - The Huron -Perth -
Bruce Chapter of Epilepsy Ontario
will be holding their annual Glad
Days August II, 12 and 13. The
glads will be sold in front of Wil-
liam's Hairstyling.
During July and August, worship
services at Hensall United Church
will begin at 10 a.m. There will
also be a junior Sunday School at
this time.
Coming events
The Hensall Parks Board has two
events planned for the summer.
July 29 will see the comedy antics
of "Sunny Knight", Barry Moyle -
Elvis impersonator and Shelly
Moyle - Marilyn Munro impersona-
tor. Tickets ($15.00 each) are avail-
able at the door; with proceeds go-
ing to recreational equipment.
Show time is 9:00 p.m. with a
dance to follow.
A pork barbecue and dance, fea-
turing "Double Exposure" is sched-
uled for August 19. This is a cele-
bration event for Hensall's 110th
birthday. Lunch will be available at
6:30 or 10:30. Information availa-

ity.

CENTRALIA - The Centralia and Zion West United
Churches held a joint service at Zion -West on Sunday,
July 17, with Heather Smith conducting the service.
The theme of the morning worship focused on the
necessary conditions of reconciliation between neigh -
hours Next Sunday, July 24, the joint service will be at
Centralia United Church at 10:(0 a.m.
The Centralia U.C.W. now have church plates for

Euchre
On July 11 at Heywood's Restaurant an afternoon of
euchre was eniov'ed. Ladies High was won by 011ie Es-
sery and Marion Noels had the Lone Hands. Harold
Hodgins won the Men's High and Harry Noels the
men's Lone Hands.
The special award went to Evan Hodgins. July 25 is
the next date for the Monday afternoon's euchre party
at Heywood's.
Personals
Heather Brandon, Uxbridge, granddaughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Power, received first class honours in
Grade eight violin from the Royal Conservatory of
Music in Toronto recently.
During a recent family vacation at Roselawn Lodge
in Bala, Muskoka, Fred Dobbs III, the Rev. Patricia
Dobbs and her husband, the Rev. Rob Luxton spent a
few days with their parents, Patricia and Fred Dobbs

Dr. Donald and Olga Noakes and
daughters Megan and Amy, of Na-
naimo, B.C., have returned home
after spending two weeks visiting
with their parents. John Noakes, of
Kamloops, B.C., has returned
home after visiting his parents, Le-
onard and Minnie Noakes, for one
week.
On June 10, a Noakes family re-
union was held at the Crediton
home of Bill and Pat Noakes. The
eight children and 10 grandchildren
of Minnie and Leonard, along with
their spouses, were celebrajng Le-
onard's birth,Jay.
Marion Plunkett, along with Bar-
bara and Richard Elliot, has just re-
turned from a two week vacation in
Berton, New Brunswick. The three

Ij ud Golden Agers Club recent-
ly hosted an Appreciation Barbe-
cue Dinner at tt.e Lion's Club Pa-
vilion to thank the many Grand
Bend and Area volunteers who
physically and/or financially
helped with the construction of
the Club's four new outdoor
shuffleboard courts'ebmplete
with canopies.
One hundred and ten members
and guests witnessed a surprist;
special ser`ice award presenta-
tion to the Club's Shuffleboard
Co-ordinator Lloyd Mousseau.
