THAMES ROAD - A fair crowd
attended the joint service at Elim-
ville United Church on Sunday
morning.
Rev. Wib Duncan, the Director of
the Canadian Bible Society, Lon-
don Office was in charge of the ser-
vice. He was a former United
Church minister in St. Marys.'
The Responsive Reading was tak-
en from the Green Service Book
"The City of God", Psalm 48.
The choir sang "A Pilgrim Was
1" accompanied by the pianist Mar-
jorie Johns. The Scripture Lesson
was read by Carolyn Johns II Sam-
uel 5:1-5, 9-10, II Corinthians 12:1-
10.
Rev. Wib Dawson read Mark
4:1-20 and the title of his sermon
was "Planting a Vision".
Gilbert and Jean Johns and Ruth,
Skinner provided refreshments af-
ter the service.

June 27th. The valedictory address was given by Ryan Munn and Amy
Wood. The following awards were presented: Oddfellows Citizenship

Ryan Munn; Hensall Legion Ladies' Auxiliary English Award, Jusfe
Shaw; Cook's Mathematics Award, Justin Shaw; Hensall Co-op Sci-

Hensall United Church
At Hensall United Church, this past Sunday, Mary Kinsman greeted
the worshippers. Flowers, in memory of the late Harold Parker, were
placed in the sanctuary by his family.
The congregation is reminded that the July and August Services will
begin at 10 a.m. Rev. Annen's message was "Frustrated by Their Lack
of Faith", Doug Klopp was the organist for the service.

Grade eights graduate
at St. Patrick's
LUCAN - Last Tuesday, St. Pat-
rick's School held their graduation
ceremony.
Twenty-six students graduated
from Grade 8. The evening began
with a meal followed by a program
that included a guest speaker, Pe-
ter Garland.
As well, some students received
special awards: Jennifer Scheiring,
Adam Ryan and Brett Fairweather
received best progress awards. Ka-
sia Szczech and Mark Gullo re-
ceived high academic awards.
The C.P.T.A. Personal Achieve-
ment Award went to Paula
McLaughlin, Chris Readings and
Jeremy O'Shea.

EXETER - Summer weather has
not stopped the Dining Programme.
Delicious meals and good entertain-
ment are highlights.
The Exeter Public School inter -
,mediate Choir led by Frank Braun
gave an excellent demonstration of
their musical abilities on June 14.
Thc club was honoured to have thc
chance to listen to the talented stu-
dents.
Keyboard players for the month
were Jean Hodgert, Josie Ryckman
and Maxine Sereda.
Draw prizes were won by Antjc
Koopman, Ruth Skinner, Isabel
Kerslake, Lloyd Ballantyne, Bea
Munn, and Ruth Brock.
On June 21 several members at-
tended a presentation of the Wizard
of Oz at the Exeter Public School,
following thc lunch. Thc perfor-
mance was filled with talent, vigor,
and enthusiasm. After, the students
treated us to a reading of their per-
sonal stories.
On June 28, a sing song was led
by Rev. Grant Mills and Pat Skin-
ner. Sympathy cards were sent to
the family of the late Joe Carter,
and to Gordon and Florence Fink-
beiner, on the loss of his mother.
Get well cards were sent to Eileen
Pullman, Nelson Squire, and Ber-
nice Gregson.
cy Ryan Memorial for ladyship
and John Lansink received the Mi-
chael VanderLoo Award for gen-
tlemanship.
The Maslen Family Award for
all round female student went to
Julie Jansen and the all round male
student went to Jules Pattyn.
Shannon Pettypiece was the Val-
edictorian.

On Monday evening Hugh and Hazel Davis attended the Grade eight
graduation of Biddulph Central School students at the Lucan Commu-
nity Centre. Granddaughter Courtney MacGillivray was one of the
graduates and also recipient of the "I Love to Read Award" which was
sponsored by and presented by Marguerite McRoberts. Congratulations
go to Courtney from all her friends and relatives at St. Patricks.
Michael acrd Suzanne Davis and family attended the surprise party for
sister Linda Foran given by her family at the Centralia Community
Centre on Saturday evening, honouring her on her graduation from
Fanshawe College.
Mary Davis was Sunday evening dinner guest with the Davis's along
with die MacGillivray and the Michael Davis family.

SAINTSBURY - St. Patrick's Holy Eucharist sixth Sunday after
Pentecost service was held'at 8:30 a.m.
Rev. Stephen Entry spoke to the children about vacations and how
God is alwap with there.
There will be no service at St. Patrick's until August 7 as the rector is
on vacation.
St. Patrick's church and Sunday Sch(x)t will hold their July picnic
and pool party at the Davis's on Tuesday, July 12 at 4:00 p.m. There
will be swimmintand a short A.L.W. meeting followed by a barbecue
at 5:30 p.m.
`Canada Remembers' medallions
on display at Exeter Legion

EXETER - Members of the Roy-
al Canadian Legion in Exeter were
proud to take part in celebrating
Canada's birthday and were
pleased to sec the citizens of Exeter
and area conic out and participate
in the many events.
The Exeter Legion does not hold
general meeting during the summer
months of July and August. The ex-
ecutive will be meeting on July 21
and August 18 at which time
groups can make presentations.
Women's Ministries
EXETER - The Womens'-'Minis-
tries from the Exeter Pentecostal
Tabernacle held a meeting at Mary
Lowden's home, Junc 30 at 2 p.m�
Jean Triehner presided over the
service and led in the hymns
"Leaning on the Everlasting Arnis"
and "My4esus I Love Thee".
The roll call was taken and an-
swered by a scripture verse on
"Satisfied". There were nine mem-
bers present.
There was a donation to the
Women's Ministries from the fu-
neral of Estrella Finkbeiner. She
was a faithful attender of the Wom-
ens' Ministries and of thc church.
The Women's Ministries is giving
$100 towards the church mortgage.
Jean Triehner read a letter from
Dave and Betty Krohn in South Af-
rica. Dorothy Cooper gave a Mis-
sionary reading on the Krohns also.
Ruth McLaren gave a reading on
the hymn "Hallelujah I have Found
Him."
Helen Kendrick read a message'
on "How to Find Peace". The
group had prayer.

Exeter Villa celebrates
seniors month
EXETER - A very busy month
at Exeter Villa was topped off
with the celebration of their
eighth anniversary and the official
opening -of the new wing.
Several dignitaries along with
over 80 residents, Families and
visitors from the community en-
joyed the afternoon, a highlight
being the presentation of five-year
service pins to nine staff mem-
hers.
Other activities celebrating sen-
iors nionth included visits from
two Choirs from Exeter Public
School, a Father's Day Social,
and a final visit from Precious
Blood students with their Adopt -
a -grandparent at a barbecue lunch.
Rest Home residents entertained
the Legion members with lunch to
thank them for playing bingo eve-
ry month and the Exeter Commu-
nity Band supplied all the resi-
dents with an evening of outdoor
music.
--A busy and active month en-
joyed by the residents included
barbecues, several visiting musi-
cal groups and lots of ice_cream
cones!
