Purchase of
chipper under
consideration
BIDDULPH TOWNSHIP - M its April 2 meeting council was in-
formed Lucan is investigating the possibility of jointly purchasini a
chipper for use by the village, Biddulph Township and the Lucan
Hydro Commission.
Presently a chipper is either rented or someone is hired to do the
work. It is estimated there is one week's worth of work to be com-
pleted at an approximate rental cost of $1,000.
A report will be presented at the next council meeting to reveal the
exact cost to the township as well as the possible rental income from
other jurisdictions and the projected savings over renting this equip-
ment as required. •
In other council news, Donna Janes, Robert Salts, Linda Thomp
son and Mike Anderson attended council's March meeting as a del-

g p presented a letter outlining its goals that included
construction of a new 10,000 square foot building to house the rttu-
scum.
Anderson requested the township set aside funds in its budget for
use by the committee, He explained most Ontario museums are gov-
ernment funded and that the museum in Lucan nets approximately
$2.10 for every $20 spent. He added there are spin-off profits for
other industries because of the museum's existence.

LUCAN - OPP report as a result
of a dance at the Lucan Community

charged with drinking in a vehicle,
Devon Prtenjaca, 19, was charged
and a quantity of liquor was seized.
Three females, two age 16 and one
age 14 were arrested for public in-
toxication and taken to OPP cells.

stolen. According to police, entry
was gained by kicking in a door.
Bluewater
withdraws
tender for
co -collection
STEPHEN TOWNSHIP - Coun-
cil passed a motion at its meeting
last Tuesday to enter into a con-
tract with MacDonald Sanitation,
rescinding a motion from March
19 accepting Bluewater Recycling
Association's tender of $42,946.30.
Unable to meet tender specifica-
tion because trucks are not yet
available, Bluewater withdrew its
hid for waste co -collection. The
next lowest bidder was MacDon-
ald Sanitation.
