Snowmobilers
at it again
EXETER - Councillors Fay Tri-
ebner and Wendy Boyle were "on
the attack" at the last council meet-
- ing. Both were exasperated with
' the behaviour of some snowmobil-
ers and the lack of satisfaction re-
ceived from the police. "We have
to do more than simply say they
(the snowmobilers) must clean up
their act," said Triebner to open
the discussion. "I'm sick of the sob
story from the Exeter OPP that
they can't catch them. They should
go out and follow these people.
I'm sick and tired of being respon-
sible for policing this town," re-
proached Boyle.
Leroy Hern, and "avid snowmo-
i biter" was also in auendance. He
cautioned that the remarks were
probably directed at just a few
people - some under -aged teenag-
ers and some players who have
just finished hockey games: "Un-
less people are caught in the act,
we really can't do anything."
Councillor itobert Drummond
suggested diff'' Iiia matter be re-
ferred to the next Police Services
Board meeting and that a request
he made for "a stronger police
presence to enforce the rules ap-
plying to snowmobiles."
Public School Boards' Association:
negotiates cost-cutting benefits plan
rAt
Canada. "The magnitude of
change within the health-care sys-
tem in Canada today is enormous,"
said Ed Robinson, Aetna's senior -
vice -president of employee benefit
services. "That reality presents
some significant challenges, but it
also provides us with a tremendous
opportunity to shape the role of
private plans in the future health-
care of Canadians."
TORONTO - The Ontario Public
School Boards' Association,
through it.: Shared Service initia-
tives, has negotiated an employee
benefits plan with Aetna Life Insu-
rance Company of Canada. The
plan, which is available to all
school boards in the province on
an optional basis, will save boards
as much as 10 per cent of their
staff -benefit costs without reduc-
ing benefits.
"With the provincial govern-
ment's cutbacks to education by
$400 million next year, Ontario's
public school boards must contin-
ue to cut costs in ways that protect
student programs and services and
taxpayers' resources," said Donna
Cansfield, president of the Ontario
Public School Boards' Associa-
tion. "Employee benefits, as one of
the fastest growing cost areas of
school -board operations, is a logi-
cal place for the association to find
ways to help school boards save
money."
A key selling feature was Aet-
na's capabilities in the area of
managed health and dental -care, a
concept that is quickly evolving in
The employee benefits plan for
school boards, which covers life
insurance, accidental death and
dismemberment, long-term disabil-
ity, and health and dental benefits,
complements a managed pharma-
cy -care plan negotiated earlier this
fall with Foxmeyer Canada. Both
plans are part of the Ontario Public
School Boards' Association's
Shared Service Initiates, which has
been established to find ways to
save school boards and taxpayers
money by utilizing the combined
buying power of boards and their
employees. The pharmacy -care
and benefits initiatives are now be-
ing presented to all school boards
in the province.

on Concession 1 Tuckersmith Township. The owner left the house at
8:00 p.m. and returned at 10:30 p.m. on January 11, 1990 and when he
returned the machine was gone. The snowmobile was black/green and
registration number on the hood is 780732 in orange/yellow color.,
