Recently at the Exeter curling club, a mixed rink skipped by Alvin Pym scored a perfect eight -ender with the help of Art Cann, Helen Jermyn and Betty Coates. 35 YEARS AGO January 16, 1961 - Clarence Down, R.R. 1, Hensall was elected chairman of the Ontario Vegetable Growers Marketing board. Simon Nagle, Exeter bantams star goal tender, scored his third shutout of the season Tuesday night when the locals blanked Hen- sall 7-0. There is considerable speculation as to who will get the warden's chair. The choice will rest between George McEwen, reeve of Hay township and Stephen township's reeve Henry Silber. Both are strong men and could equally well fill the office, but Mr. Eilber being the older member of the board will likely get the preference. This end of the county is entitled to the wardenshie this year and in any event will secure the honor.
