Female shot
by pellet gun
LUCAN - A female did not re-
quire medical treatment after she
was shot with a pellet gun outside a
pizza place on Oct. 31. Police have
suspects and investigation is contin-
uing.
Police received reports that
youths, in what may have been a
Halloween prank, used a pellet gun
to damage windows.
There were also incidents of large
groups of youths throwing apples
and eggs in Lucan and Ailsa Craig
in celebration of Halloween.
That night a Dashwood home had
its window broken by eggs and a
Hay Township mailbox was dam-
aged.

euchre party
EXETER - After the opening cer-
emonies at a recent meeting of the
Pride of Huron Rebekah Lodge,
N.G. Sister Mavis Atthill read a
Remembrance Day poem "Carry
On" and the group observed a min-
ute's silence. They removed the
Drape from their Charter.
Sister Olive Hicks is hack in
South Huron Hospital after receiv-
ing a pacemaker. Sister Marie Fy-
denchuck broke her arm and now
has the shingles. V.G. Sister Doris
Denham will visit her as soon as
possible. Len McKnight fell and
bruised himself badly. He and Sis-
ter Mahle would welcome any visi-
tors to help pass the time,
There will be a euchre in the
Lodge Hall November 8 at 8 p.m.
Women are asked to bring lunch.
On November 4 they went to a ral-
ly in Stratford and conducted the
closing ceremonies. This was fol-
lowed by a supper at the church.
On Monday evening they went to
Clinton for the visit of the Assem-
bly President. There was a meal at
6:30 followed by the meeting at 8
p.m.
Ilderton Lodge are having a Poor
Boys Luncheon November 9, a ba-
zaar December 2 and the Rosebud
Theta Rho Club's birthday party is
November 24.
N.G. Sister Mavis Atthill has a
crib quilt to be raffled September
18, 1996. Tickets are $1 each or
three for $2. Half the proceeds will
be donated to arthritis, the other
half will be used by the Lodge to
make donations to other worthy
causes.
Sister Mavis Atthill and Sister
Doris Denham will Tx the group's
representatives to the U.N. meet-
ings this year. The first meeting
will be held November 3. The Past
Noble Grand's Club have changed
their meeting night from November
9 to November 16 at Sister Ruth
Skinner's home.
Their Christmas dinner will be
December 6 at 6:30 p.m., followed
by a meeting at 8:00 p.m. Each per-
son will be charged $4 - $2 to pay
for the turkey and $2 to be given to
the Christmas Bureau. They will
also be delivering meals to their
shut-in members that night.

BRUSSELS - The District 8 On-
tario Association of Agricultural
Societies annual meting was held
in Brussels on Tuesday October
24, with attendance from 14 fair
boards in Huron and Perth
counties. Kevin Stewart of Exeter,
producer of Family Farmer with
Baton Broadcasting Systems was
guest speaker.
Greetings were extended on be-
half of the Federal government by
Paul Steckle, MP who spoke brief-
ly on the Quebec referendum and
the importance of keeping a united
Canada.
The 1996 executive for District
8 were elected consisting of: Dis-
trict 8 Director - Lyle Haney of
Seaforth; District 8 Homecraft
Representative - Margaret
Deichert of Zurich; Associate Di-
rector - Bert Vorstenbosch of
Mitchell; Associate Homecraft

Crimes of the week
Break and enter
On October 17, 1995 there was a break, enter, and theft at a residence on Concession 3, Colborne Town-
ship. The culprits entered the residence and removed a Panasonic TV and VCR, a Denon CD player, Mis-
sion speakers, a Chubb safe, U.S. funds, and other certificates and bonds.
Break and enter
The Kenpal Farm Products at Concession 1 Stephen Township was broken into on October 17, 1995 be-
tween the hours of 12:00 and 5:30 a.m. A microwave oven and four 286 computers were stolen.
Theft of money
Unknown person(s) removed two deposit bags of money from McTavish Petrocan at Main Street in Exeter
on October 15, 1995. The theft took place sometime between 2:00 and 2:05 p.m. when both employees were
busy at the gas pumps. The deposit bags are grey plastic with McTavish Petrocan written on them.
Liquor store broken into
The liquor store in Clinton on Maple Street was broken into between 11:15 p.m. on October 17 and 8:45
a.m. October 18. The thieves stole 13 bottles of whiskey and rum. A witness saw a red or maroon colored
Ranger or Bronco type vehicle, 1985 or 1986 parked in the vicinity of the liquor store. Two males of aver-
age height and weight walked towards the store but then ran back to their vehicle and drove away at a high
rate of speed.
Headstones damaged
On November 1, 1995 unknown persons entered the Wingham Cemetery and knocked over eight head-
stones causing damage to several of them. The cemetery is at lot 25, concession 7, Turnberry Township.
Break, enter and theft
There was a break and enter at Columbia Drive in Huron Park on October 14, 1995. The occupants were
gone from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and when they arrived home it was noticed that the house had been ran-
sacked. Stolen property included TV, VCR, camcorder, jewelry and several other items.
Window smashed
On October 28, 1995 the driver of a brown or burgundy Plymouth K car was acting silly on the Main
Street in Exeter. The car hit a sign post causing it to hit the north window of the Color Your World store
causing approximately $100 damage.
