The average adult head weighs from 10 to 12
pounds. Your neck and shoulder muscles have the
job of holding this 12 -pound lump upright and allow
it to move smoothly. Your posture is very important.
So sit up straight, walk with your head held high
and be aware of that weight on your shoulders.
ERT (Estrogen Replacement Therapy) has been proven to reduce meno-
pausal women's risk of cornary heart disease by as much as 50%, this
protection increases the longer the estrogen supplement is used. It
also slows bone -loss thus reducing osteoporosis risk.
Insomnia is a very frustrating problem and sometimes can be very easy
to fix. Drugs can sometimes be the cause of sleepless nights. When we
are told by a customer that she is sleeping poorly, we will review her
prescription profile. The cause just might be there.
Diarrhea is another side effect that can occur with many medications.
Again, let us know if this is a problem and we can see if one of your
medications is causing it.
Talking to you about your medications is an important part of our job as
pharmacists. It's a job we thoroughly enjoy.
