1995.

The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed steers
and heifers selling $1.00 lower. Cows sold $1.00
higher. On Thursday veal sold on a steady active
trade. Lambs sold steady to last week. On Friday calves and yearlings sold on a
strong active trade.
There were 384,steers on offer selling from 86.00 to 89.00 to the high of 94.00.
Forty-one steers consigned by Cunningham Farms, Lucan averaging 1338 lhs.
sold for an average of 86.71 with sales to 94.00.
Eleven steers consigned by Gordon Gross, Auburn averaging 1414 lbs. sold for
an average of 87.13 with sates to 93.00.
Forty-five steers consigned by G.A. Stewart Farms, Ripley averaging 1255 lhs.
sold for an average of 87.95 with sales to 92.75.

DENFIELD - The market at Denfield traded
under pressure at 2.00 cwt. lower on all but the
fancy fed cattle. Cows sold higher, pigs and veal
steady. Stockers steady.
There were 530 cattle and 200 pigs on offer.
Gerald Olcary, Ailsa Craig sold 6 heifers average weight 1240, aver-
age price 89.48 sales to 96.75 purchased by Dendekker Meats.
Jim Thompson and Norm Lewis, Ailsa Craig sold 24 steers, average

4-H members improve
their judging skills
CLINTON - A very successful 4-
H Judging Competition was orga-
nized by 4-H leaders in Huron
County on August 9 at the Seaforth
Fairgrounds. Ten thought-
provoking judging stations of items
from tool boxes to livestock forced
members to use their best decision-
making skills. Around 90 members
from throughout Huron County
took part.
Although each member is a win-
ner for taking part, the top marks of
the evening went to: Top Novice -

Top Junior - Katie Snell, RR 1
Clinton; Top Intermediate - Sandra

Junior Farmers donation
The Huron County Federation of Agriculture has donated
$1000 to the Huron County Junior Farmers to herd support
a leadership camp for rural and urban youth. Camp youth
chair Susan McLachlan accepts a mock-up cheque for the
Pride of Huron leadership camp from Huron Federation of
Agriculture president Steve Thompson. Hullett Township
Council has also supported 'the camp with a $100 grant.
