HENSALL - Residents of the
Queensway Nursing and Re-

dance and a bagpipe player per-
form for Scottish Day on the
home's lawn Thursday afternoon.
"Each month we try to feature a
certain , country," said Cargj Gas-
cho, the home's activities director.
"We try to have one meal to focus
on the country we've chosen."
In celebration of Scotland, res-
idents feasted on Scotch scones
along with their peameal bacon,

formed a double sword and the
girls did a Scotch measure.
Before John Jewitt played Scot-
land the Brave, Rowan Tree and
Wings on the bagpipes, he turned to
the audience and said, "I started
the bagpipes when I was 40 years
old. I'm not very good at it but I
hope you'll enjoy the talent I
have."
And what would Scottish day be
without a little Scottish trivia? Be-
tween performances Gascho asked
the audience questions such as
"Who was Robbie Burns?"
Queensway will celebrate its next
International Day with a focus on
Alaska on Sept. 21.
