Brigadoon the haunting musical
fantasy about a Scottish town that
has gone to sleep and awakes for a
single day once each hundred
years, will be the first musical per-
formed in St. Marys since their
successful production of South Pa-
cific in 1993. The wistful tale told
in this spell -binding musical re-
volves about , two Americans
whose plane makes a sudden land-
ing near a Scottish village -- a
quaint place that appears on no
maps. It is an oasis of dreams, and
the breaking of the peace by one
disgruntled soul would suffice to
make it disappear forever.
The production features wonder-
ful music, such as: "Come to Me,
Bend to Me", "Almost like Being
in Love", 'The Heather on the
Hill" and "1'II go Home with Bon-
nie Jean" to name a few. It also
features numerous dance numbers,
including Highland Flings.
The cast includes seven men
aged 20-80, three women aged 20-
35, and a chorus of mixed ages 16
and up. Dancers are also needed,
especially those with Highland
Dancing experience. Auditioners
are asked t9 prepare one up tempo
piece and one ballad.

HOW DOES A FUNERAL HELP THE LIVING?
Funeral services act as a focusing point for the grief people feel at the
Toss of a friend or loved one. The funeral is a chance for those close to
the departed to gather, share memories, and help each other through
a difficult time.
If there is not funeral, or if only a memorial serviCe is held, such shar-
ing may be incomplete. Memorial services alone fail to emphasize the
fact that death has occurred, partly because they usually take place af-
ter the most intense grief feelings have passed.
But a funeral -- with visitations at the funeral home, religious services
and a committal service -- helps the bereaved finally to accept their
loss.
If you have questions about funeral arrangements, please stop in and
talk with us.
