Dennis Webster - Systems and
Computer Engineering
LONDON - Dennis Webster took a job that brings
him to a landfill site where he drills into wells, syphons
off methane gas, runs the gas through generators and
produce': enough electricity for.about 20,000 homes.
He is a systems and computer engineer at ZTR
Control Systems in London.
Webster graduated from South Huron District High
School in.199l. Upon graduation he enrolled in the
systems computer engineering program at the •
University of Guelph. He did his co-op placements at
Hcines in Leamington, Imperial Tobacco in Guelph
and Garland Commercial Ranges in Toronto.
After graduating from the course, and carrying witli
him a degree in computing engineering, he landed
a job at ZTR Control Systems. where he has now
been for the past year and a half.
Webster said he docs almost everything when it
comes to his job, but his main responsibility is designing computer
software used in the control system. and building automotive
equipment for energy from waste plants.
There is also a ZTR Control Systems branch in Minneapolis.

school. For two weeks he went with a cycling group to
Europe and biked from London, England to Amsterdam

that is where he and the other band members play quite
frequently.
This fall he has been asked to give seminars at the.

Vebster said he still keeps in touch with many of his
.'ends from high. school.
"Some of my friends have moved away. One guy

Took a Walk
By Jane Simmons, Grade 6
Hensall Public School
I took a walk one Christmas.
Past the post office,
Past the general store,
But I just kept going and going.
Out into the moonlit countryside.
Only evergreen trees dotted the
snowy horizon.
I looked back to the city expecting
to see lights;
But I only saw snow.
All of a sudden the wind picked up.
The next thing I know, I'm lost,
Lost and all alone,
But I just kept going and going.
Out into the night...
It was then that I felt the true mean-
ing of Christmas,
Family, people that love and care
for me.
Next thing I know,
I'm in front of a blazing fire
With all my family.

My favorite present was my

! cause everyone wanted one. I.had'
dreamed about ,getting one, but it
was too expensive.'I came down on
Christmas morning and couldn:t '
believe my eyes! It. was black and
white. and had a part to hang on to
so that you don't fall. After break-
fast, 1 went out and went snow-
boarding. I felt s'o good about get-
