New restaurant In one of oldest establishments In Exeter appeals to locals

mushioom sauce and peach brie'' .

• That's what - Don Wand and
Jame, iddington had in mind when
they opened Eddington's Ftne Cas-
ual mining un Main Street in Exet
• . CV They wanted the .people of Exet-
er to he able to eat well hut not
spend every penny in their pocket.
"We wanted some place where
. people could come in their jeans
• . •and have a nice meal." said Wand.

"I saw that Exeter needed a place

their search for a restaurant they
were given a' tip that there was a
nice older 'home . in Exeter con-
taining a lot of potential for what
the duo secked.
"We looked in the windows and
took down the name of the rcaltor,"
said Wand, "We setup an appoint-
ment to conte and see the place and

Dining is unique. _The long stair-
case' at the entrance of the home
• and elegant chandeliers convey a
victoria') hue which fits well with
the restaurant's theme. .

Don Wand opened Eddington's Casual Fine Dining Dec. 16 and
already the business is booming with success.

Janet Ecker to appear
on TV Ontario
. TORONTO - Ontario Community and Social Services Minister
Janet Ecker will appear on TVO's weekly "parent affairs" program
The Parent Connection on Thursday. January 8 at 10 p.m. to discuss
her government's response to the growing concern about child
abuse. More specifically, she will talk about programs"and policies
prompted by last summer's Child Mortality Task Force report -co-
authored by. the Ontario Coroner's Office and the Association of
Children's Aid Societies. The government is considering changes to
the Child and Family Services Act to strengthen the province's child
welfare system to ensure that a child's safety supersedes parental
rights.
Other panel guests will include: Sandra Pupatello,.Liberal MPP -
Windsor -Sandwich; Representative, TBA, Ontario Association of
Children's Aid Societies. ••
