Lioness club supports community
The Exeter Lioness Club continued their commitment to the community by distributing
$Z100 to local causes last Wednesday afternoon. Lioness Liz Stephens (left) presented
cheques to: Nancy Tweddle (Exeter Villa), Bev Robinson (Samaritan -Food Bank), Rev. Dan
Roushorne (Huron County Christmas Bureau), George. Godbolt (South Huron DHS Lease a

Students prepare for Christmas concerts

ZURICH The students of St.
Boniface School are getting ready
.for their annual Christmas concert
nn December 9..at 7:30 p.m.
• Children in kindergarten to grade
three' will participate.
On December ip. grades four to
eight students will present their
concert at 7:30 p.m.
The Zurich Public School.
Christmas . concert, is ser for
December 16 at 7 p.m. Anyone.
wishing to go to the dress rehearsal
-can do so on December 15 at 1+15
p.m.
A foot care clinic will he held at
Maple Woods on Monday morning,,
December 8 until noon.

Copcert will he held at South
'Huron District High School on
December 7 at 2 p.m. in the large
gym. All .groups "from the music
department will he performing.
• Their school comedy show is on
December 9 at 7'p.m. The cost is
,25Q to get in. along with a canned
good,item. •
On December 11. the semi -for-
mal "Snow Flake Ball" is planned.

A surprise 25th anniversary cele-
bration was held on November 22
for Peter 'and. Bonnie Regicr of
London, at their house with both
sets of their parents attending from
Zurich. along with many friends
and relatives. The couple's son
Tom flew in from Calgary to sur-
prise them.
Jerome and -Carmel Sweeney and
their five daughters. a son-in-law
and two grandchildren attended the
funeral of their aunt Eleanor Cccile
in Tecumseh on Saturday: She is
survived by husband Pete and son
Jim. .
A surprise 40th birthday party
was held for Martin Gelinas un
Saturday at his home, given by
wife Chcryl.and attended by rela-
tives on both Sides of the family
and friends.
The actual date of his birthday is
December 13. His daughter
Stephanie Gelinas will be 13 on
December 4. • .
Best wishes for a. speedy recov-
ery is extended to Carol Martin
who fell recently and broke her
ankle.

Church the greeters were Shirley
and Lloyd Ferguson. Nancy Fraser
gave the welcome and announce-
ments. The. Call to Worship was
followed by prayer. This was fol-
lowed by the lighting of the first.
Advent candle by Robert and Kar-
en Jolly and their children Jessica,
Luke and Hayden. "A Candle. is
Burning" was. then sung. Hilda
Payne gave the Epistle Reading.
The choir sang an anthem before
the sermon. Jean and Raye Jacobe
were the ushers. "In Gratitude and
Humble Trust" was sung before the,
dedicationof the offering. Prayers
of Thanksgiving, commissioning,
benediction and . the choral. Amen
ended the service.
December 7 is White Gift Sunday
at Hensall United Church. Please
bring a wrapped gift for a child.
The children meet in the Fellow- -
ship Hall to prepare for the service.
Practice for the White Gift Service
is on December 5 at- 3:20 p.m.
Please bring donations for the -Food
Bank on December -7. .
The Afternoon Ladies meet on
Decernber 4 at 2 p.m. All knitters
and shoppers should. remember to
decorate the Mitten Tree with mit-
tens• hats and scarves from Decem-
her 8 to December 12. -
At -Carmel Presbyterian Church
Rev. Steeper's message was "From
Here to Eternity". Dorothy Taylor'
was the organist. The Sacrament of
Communion will be celebrated on
December 7. Cathy Bell lit the can-
dle of Hope. '

morning worship service at Carmel
Presbyterian Church. Sisters Lori

happy occasion.
Hensall residents and guests are
invited to the annual Hensall Tree
Lighting Ceremony. Sunday. De-
cember 7, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. will be
crafts an story telling. Musical en-
tertainment will commence at 5:30,
with refreshments being served at 6
p.m. The tree will be lit at 6.31
p.m. Everyone is welcome; and en-
couraged to.bring a non-perishable
food item, or Christmas toy. forthe
Huron County Christmas Bureau.
