Laying of wreaths at cenotaph in Varna

VARNA - Varna -Goshen con-
bined church service was held in
Varna on Sunday with Rev. Gordon
Duncan as guest preacher from
Stratford. Rev. Tracy Crick was in
Stratford preaching. Following the
service, the laying of the wreaths
was done at the cenotaph. Jack
Coleman laid the Township
Wreath. Bill McAsh presented one
for the Veterans and Ivan -
McClymont presented one for the
Orange Lodge:
• Next Sunday. November 16. the
church service will be held in
Goshen with guest speaker Judith
Ritchie. .
Shoe boxes arc. available at the
Varna Church for Operation
Christmas,Child. Please have your
boxes to the Varna Church by
November 19.
Winter coats, snow suits, mitts
and hats can also be brought to the
church to help Stake sure no one
goes without a warm coat this win-
ter.
Bill Taylor is selling amaryllis
bulbs for the Huntington Society
for $10.
The Trends will meet at the
Clinton Bowling Alley, November
14 at 7 p.m. Parents can pick them
up at 8:30 p.m. The cost is $2.25
per game. Monica Hill and Mary
Ellen Webster will supervise.
The Teens will meet at the
Holmesville United Church on
November 16 at 2 p.m. for a movie
and pizza. Each teen is asked to
bring an item (topping) for the
pizza.
The Stan Lee meeting was held
at the Stanley Complex on..
November 5. An open euchre party
was held. Marg Hayter. Ruth
Johnston, Bill and Eleanor McAsh
were in charge. -There 11 tables in
play.
Prizes went to high green -
Bernice Reid. low green - Helen
McKay, high while - Betty Grenier,
and -low white - Bea Dalrymple.
The most lone hands was won by
Jerry Kane.
Twelve people received door
prizes. The Stan Lee December
meeting will he a Christmas party
at the Blue Fountain in Clinton on
December 3 at 6 pin. The price is

President Deb Rathwell opened
the November V.C.W. meeting
with a poem "The Answer" and
welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Marg Hayter reported she had
been to the Camp meeting and
Varna was given aCamp History
Book which will be passed around.
A letter was sent from the -adopt-
ed child Christine Greer from Dr.
Graham's Home. Marj Stirling was
thanked for looking after the cur-
tains for the nursery.
There will be an executive meet-
ing November 26 at Debra

care facilities. Penner and Webb work hand-in-hand with health care products, and travel
to different long-term care facilities throughout the area to explain the importance of seat-

agement and preventative information. Last Thursday Penner and Webb visited the Exeter
Villa nursing home. '
