Road system should staywith two-tier government, report says

HURON COUNTY - A road
study by Huron County by con-
suiting firm CSL ' Infrastructure
Management Inc. says that until
the political will exists, the road
system should continue to be con-
trolled by both the county and lo-
cal municipalities.
But Hans Muntz of CSL says
there are other options which,
would save money if local pol-
iticians want them. -

DENFiELD - Over 100 beef cat-
tle were set loose from their pens
at Denfield Livestock Ltd. .while
thieves ransacked the business 'of-
. free between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on
Saturday.
London OPP Const. Donna Shu -
list said a fax and two telephones
were . stolen. The thieves also
smashed a TV and computer "mon-
itor and- dumped office supplies
and drawers on the floor.
Denfield Livestock . co-owner
Gwen Coulter said the thieves also
broke a number of windows and
doors. Coulter estimated damages
to be in the -$6,003-$7.000 range.
The.caule were let loose in the
16 Mile Rd. and Denfield Rd. area
and Coulter said all but one of the
cattle had been rounded up by
Sunday night. The last cow was
found on Monday -night. None of
the cows were hurt during their
free time. but Coulter said the in-
cident could have become tragic.
"People could've been killed on
the road," she said.
