away recently in Nevada. Margaret -was -a gifted seam-
stress and a sister of the -late Jean Taylor. -

Shirley McAllister was the presider. Rev. Dr. Johyn
-Arnbrose was.the preacher. The Chairperson was'Betty
Graber from=Presbytery--The--Preshyter-y--Respentative—
was Paul Ross.
Rev. Dr. Johyn Arnhrose's sermon was "A Gift of
Hope". Cecil Pepper and Raye Jacohe were the ushers
with Dave Campbell looking after the elevator. Chuck
Mallette was the organist for this special service. -"Will
You Come and Follow Me". "Break Bread Together".
and "Just As 1 Am" were sung. Refreshments and a so-
cial time were enjoyed following the service.
A Progressive Euchre will- be held at the Hensall
Community Centre on the afternoon of October 9 at
1:30 p.m. Admission is $2 each and prizes: 'and lunch
will be provided. This event is sponsored by the Hen -
salt Twilight Seniors.
The Hensall and District Horticultural Society will
be sponsoring a Thanksgiving House. Balcony 'and

The next regular meeting of the Hcnsall Village
Council•will be Tuesday. October 14 at 7:30 p.m.. in
the Village Council Chambers. •
Hensall Gymnastics will begin Wednesday October
22. Boys and girls ales 4-I0 can register at the Village
Office, or on the 'first night of classes.
Classes run eight weeks, Wednesday evenings 6:30-

Varna on Sunday. -Rev. Brown was
minister in Varna -Goshen .from
1979 to 1986. She shared the_chil-
dren's story on "How Things Used
to Be." Her sermon topic was "You
are the Salt'of the Earth."
Guest soloist was Margaret-
Mclnroy of Blyth. Valerie Laurie
played her flute.
The -church service next Sunday
will be in Varna with the celebra-
tion of World Wide Communion.
The 1997 Huron Farm Hiker
Tour on October5 begins at the
Ausable-Bayfield -Conservation
Area. at Morrison Dam.- The
Bannockburn Hike also starts at 2

'Fall Hike at the Bannockburn Wild- -
life Area.
From 2 p.m, to 4 p.m., the Ausa-
ble-Bayfield Conservation Authori-
ty (ABCA) will work in conjunc-
tion with - South Huron
environmental science students to
provide insight at various points of
interest_along_the-Bannockburn na-. -
ture trails. Find -out what makes this
area so special to wilderness seek-
•ers and how to make similar chang-
-es throughout your own property.

cessful bake sale held during the
Christmas in July celebrations and
the barbecue at Darling's Foodland
during Rodeo Days in August
which raised funds for the Cancer
