EXETER - Thursday's session of Provincial Cnun in Exeter had
only one drinking and driving conviction but the fine was Targe enough
for people in the courtroom to take notice. •
Paul Hennings of Stratford was stopped
by Ontario Provincial Police in Exeter on.
February 25. The officers observed -that
Hennings had an odor of alcohol on tiis
breath. glassy, eyes. slow motor skills and
was unsteady on his feet. Breathalyzer read, -
trigs. measured 2110 and 190 milligrams of
alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood.
. Judge R.G.E. Hunter fined Hennings $1.200 plus a $5 surcharge and
issued a•12 -month driving prohibition:

cased were often fined and in each case prohibited from owning or -
possessing firearms fora period of five years. .

of assault and failure to -comply with -probation: On April 25 in Exctcr.
Wurm was involved in a verbal dispute.with the yictim which led to ' -
Wurm grabbing the victim by the hair and dragging her around the
room of her home. Worm -is currently on probation for a similar.

Judge Huntecsentenced Warm to 60 days in jail for assault and 30..
days for the breach of probation for a totalof 90 days. The sentences

child .were physically injured. Donaldson was fined $40(► and put On

,who was holding her child at the time. VanVlict was ordered to abstain
from alcohol, perform 50 hours of community scrvicc•work and was

However. Pets did not deliver the cars nor refund the money* Pels
maintained that when he returned to Georgia to pick up the two cart

the 17th annual Tem' Fox Run
which will take place on Sunday
September 14..
. Proceeds from pledges support
-cancer research and continue the
legacy of Terry Fox. the one -legged
man who tried to run across Canada
in 1980 before succumbing to can-
cer.- Last year Terry Fox events
across the world raised $12.7 mil-
lion for the cause.
