Though always operating with a deficit, the Lucan Arena has been generating more *revenue and keeping costs down more effectively than budgeted:for in recent years. That, means the -arena has to give money hack to its major funders; the• Village. of Lucan. and Bid- dulph. McGillivray and London townships: to make their hooks bal- ance. Lucan council learned at a, recent meeting the arena has set anew record for over hudgeting..Lucan paid the lion's share. 47 per cent or $16,442, of the 'arena's Total '96 budget of$40.200. But the arena's • year end Iedger_came in at $9,283 (plus thccost of an ice machine). Now Lucan could get hack almost all of its '97 share of $12,690 - of the total $27,000. budget.
