general meeting August 11th
in the Hensall Arena. The
meeting was opened by Les
Gardiner, president

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Noakes accompanied by
their daughter Jean.and
grandaughter Katryn
Amess, of London have
returned from a two week
vacation to the Atlantic
Provinces

While in Prince Edward
Island they toured the
Woodleigh Replicas and
many other famous at-
tractions such as Anne of
Green Gables Home. In
Amherst, Nova Scotia they
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Wood and Dr. and Mrs.
A. Robicheau.
One day was spent at
Upper Canada Village which
is of great importance to our
Country and especially to
our province. In spite of all
the beautiful scenery, they
agree we have some of the
finest right around home.
The family travelled in a
large motor home and found
facilities excellent in most
places.

Wright reunion
Over forty Wright
descendants attended the
25th annual reunion in
Kirkton-Woodham Com-
munity Centre on Sunday.
The president, Lorne Ross,
welcomed everyone to the
gathering. A moment of
silence was held, in memory
of Percy Wright and Jack
Butler.
The secretary, Laurabelle
Reichert read the minutes of
last year's reunion.
The next reunion will be
held August 9th, 1981 at the
same place in Kirkton. The
President and Secretary will
continue for another Year.
Mrs. Myrtle Kercher who
hasn't missed a reunion, was
the oldest person attending,
while the youngest was
Heather Hardeman. The
Longest married couple
were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth
Bloomfield and the most
recently married were Mr.
and Mrs. James Wright,
Kippen. Having the wedding
anniversary nearest the date
were Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Wright, Sarnia while bir-
thday nearest the date -- of
the reunion was won by
James Wright.
The largest family present
were the Hardemans, of
Kirkton. Coming the longest
distance were the Bloom -
fields of Windsor.
Presbyterian church
Rev. Kenneth Knight
conducted morning service
in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday and
welcomed members of the
Hensall United Church and
any others worshipping with
them. His message was
entitled "Winning the Battle
and Losing the War". Mrs.
Blanche Dougall of Exeter
presided at the organ for the
