were Wednesday visitors
with Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Rader and Ben, London.
Ross Leibold returned
home from a 13 day vacation
to Western Canada. He
accompanied Dave Martens
to Rosthern,Saskatchewan
to visit his father and, his
tirother in Edmonton,
Alberta.

L.L.L. (Lutheran Laymen's,
League) convention. at Des
Moines, Iowa, this week.
Youth -meet
The Youth of Zion
Lutheran church met July
13. Jonathan Mellecke
opened with a prayer.
Along with Peace
Lutheran Church Youth,
they "continued with their
bible studies finishing the
first and starting the second.
A number of upcoming
events Were discussed.
Zion Lutheran Church held
the regular church service at
the outdoor picnic pavilion
followed by dinner with
group 1 and Mrs. Lorne
Becker convener, in charge
of a pot luck lunch.

J. Regier was judged best
in the theme float category,
"Something new for the
80's". Prizes for business
floats were won by W.G.
Thompson's. Edelweiss
Farms and Shaw's. Dairy
Store. Jack Guenther and
the Mobile Home Express
won in the best non-
commercial pony team.
Competition was keen in
the 4-H judging. In the dairy
division Sharon Thiel was
the top showman and Jerry
Groot was the top member.
Sharon Thiel also won the
overall showmanship award
for dairy and beef and
received the Zurich
Chamber of Commerce
trophy.
In theswine category
Helen Jacobs was the top
showman and Janet Regier
exhibited the best market
hog.
In 4-H horses Joan Van
Slightenhorst was the top
member and Jill Armstrong
the best showman.
Winning top honours in
Sunday's. Western and
English horse show were
Laura "Johns of Auburn on
"Freckles" followed by
Caroline Watt. Blyth on
"Champ" and Martha Wells,
Lucan on "Flicka" who
were tied, for second.
Tuesday with Mrs. Cora
Gaiser; also with Mrs. Jim
Poland, Campbellford who is.
staying with Mrs. 'Gasser
-while Rev. and Mrs. Seebach
are away.

Johnston. , Mike Bedard and
Doug Schade.
Mark Johnston hit a grand.

between the Oil Burners and
the Sunsets ended 3-0 for
the Sunsets.
There were only 5 hits in
the game with theSunsets
with 3 and Oil Burners with
2. Sunsets hitters were Don
Beauchamp, Dave Stark and
Grant Lee with singles.
Oil Burners replied with
doubles by Cliff Gingerich
and Glen Gascho with a
single.

MR. AND MRS. PETER TETLEY
Adrianno Van Raay and Peter Tetley were united in marriage
at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church on July 5 with Rev.
Charles Gervais officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Case Van Raay, Dashwood, and the groom is the
son of Mrs. Grodon Tetley; Toronto. The matron of honour
was Cora Whittington, sister of the bride; and maid of honour
was Joan Allen, friend of the bride. The best mart was David
Tetley, brother of the groom. Bridesmaids were Joanne 'Van
Raay add Teresa Van Raay. Guests were ushered by John
Hart, Peter Heisey and David Mitsui. Flower girl was Christine
Tetley and Jamie Tetley was ring bearer. After a honel'rnoon
in the United States, the couple are residing in Toronto.

was in Bayfield for the
Golden Jubilee of the Roman
Catholic Church. of the
English Martyrs. It was
exactly fifty years ago the
day and date, Sunday,July
13th that the Bayfield Church
which ,had been purchased
froze the Methodist Church
was officially opened.
Mr. Bill Parker, and his

attend the annual picnic of
