Stanley taxes up Taxpayers in Stanley township will see their taxes go up by about 20 mills in a budget approved by council. The 1980 residential public mill rate jumps from 152.85 to 171.17 while supporters of the separate school system will see their mill rate go from 155.35 to 175.26 mills. Owners of commercial properties who support the public system will pay taxes based on a mill rate of 194.85 while the rate for separate supporters goes to 193.08 from 176.90 s. The following is a break- down, of the 1980 tax schedule: general township residential 47.29 commercial township 55.64; county of Huron 23.96; board of education residential secondary 47.58; education commercial secondary 52.87; elementary separate residential 56.43 and com- mercial elementary separate 66.39. Charles Harold Klopp, 32, was charged with first degree murder of Janet Paterson Klopp and was remanded in custody Tuesday in Sarnia for the purposes of treatment at the Centre for the Criminally Insane at Penatanguishene for a 60 day period. Police said Mrs. Klopp died as the results of shots to the head and chest which took place at her residence in Grand. Bend around 1:30 P.m. Rooseboom, RR 3 Zurich graduated May 24, 1980 at Calvin College Grand Rapids. She completed .a 4 yr. course. She has been accepted at the -Christian High School, Lethbridge, Alberta. She is a former graduate of SHDHS and Clinton District Christian School. GRADUATES -- Linda Marie Webster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant R. Webster of Varna, received -an honours degree of Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature at the Spring Convocation of the University of Western On- tario on June 13. Linda .graduated on the Dean's Honour List and was award- ed the Huron College Gold Medal for the highest stc-m- ding among students graduating in the Honours program.
