Irene Dunn opened the wor- ship by reading "The True Meaning of Christmas" and "Listen to Christmas". Laurie Shapton read the Christmas story from the Scriptures of Matthew and Luke. Maxine Sereda and Norma }looper accompanied on the piano by Margaret Coates, sang a lovely Christmas song "Violet in the Snow". Irene Dunn introduced the guest speaker, Shirley Luther. Her theme was preparing for Christmas. Christmas is a beautiful event, bringing joy and hap- piness to many people, but there is touch sadness. God reminds the earth of what he did. It's a celebration of the birth of Jesus. The Old Testa- ment creates or paves the way for the corning events of one majestic person who will rule and bless the whole world, God promised a seed that would come to bless the world. Jesus wasn't premature or overdue. He was a blessed event at the right time. He carne made of a woman, born of a virgin and introduced to his nation by being born in a manger in a lowely place. This was God's gift to mankind. Shirley was thanked by Irene Dunn. Irene's group read from the book, "Listen to Christmas" to express their Christmas wishes to the group. The meeting closed with the singing of "Silent Night". A delicious lunch was served by Agnes Aunger's group. Give your child something to last.
