Hall Residence at Centralia
College of Agricultural
Technology reflects a continu-
ing commitment by the On-
tario Ministry of Agriculture
and Food to improve the
educational and residential
facilities at the College.
Although the residence has
been occupied since the start
of the college - year in
September, the official re -
National
4-H week
The Canadian 4-H Council
has announced that National
4-H week will be observed
from November 5-11. The
week will be officially
declared by the Honourable
John Wise, Minister of
Agriculture.
The focus of the week, will
be the 4-H members
themselves, 57,000 of them
from the ten provinces, who
engage in project . work in
local clubs under the
guidance of 15,000 volunteer
leaders. These members can
strive for the achievement of
one of the ten national and in-
ternational exhanges and con-
ferences organized and ad-
ministered by the Canadian
4-1-f Council.
National 4-11 Week will be
an opportunity for 4-11
members to look ahead to
1985 which has been proclaim-
ed International Youth Year
by the United Nations. 4-11
members like all other Cana-
dian youth in all walks of life,
will be involved in con-
ferences, symposiums and
seminars, in an attempt to
focus attention on this age
group.
In a recent meeting with
national youth -serving agen-
cies' representatives, the
Minister of Youth, The
Honourable Andree Cham-
pagne, stated "I want Inter-
national Youth Year to em-
phasize the wonderful things
that young people do; there
has been too much emphasis
on the problems of youth. All
of us need to work with them
to integrate their concerns
and interests with those of
other groups; we, and they,
need action, not more
research and study and
statistics".

Heritage" is this year's open
house theme and visitors to
the College will be able to en-
joy the usual Open House ac-
tivities in addition to special
bicentennial events.
Elmer Hohl, Wellesley, will
be appearing on the lawns of
Huron Hall from 3 - 4 p.m.
Hohl has been Canadian
champion for 20 times and
World champion six times.
Some of his world records still
stand and in 1969 he was in-
ducted into the Horseshoe Pit-
ching Hall of Fame. Follow-
ing in his fathers' footsteps his
son has won the Junior World
Championships and has been
the Canadian Champion
twice.
Les Greenwood of Parkhill
renowned for his abilities to
call square dancing will be in
Huron Hall lower level.
Choose your partner and join
in the dancing.
Displays and activities will
be campus wide with self
guided walking tours from
Huron Hall. Following the of-
ficial re -opening of Bruce Hall
residence at 2:00 p.m. tours of
residence will be available.

proach taken at the College.
