The week will be officially declared by the Honourable John Wise, Minister of Agriculture. The focus of the week, will be the 4-H members themselves, 57,000 of them from the ten provinces, who engage in project . work in local clubs under the guidance of 15,000 volunteer leaders. These members can strive for the achievement of one of the ten national and in- ternational exhanges and con- ferences organized and ad- ministered by the Canadian 4-1-f Council. In a recent meeting with national youth -serving agen- cies' representatives, the Minister of Youth, The Honourable Andree Cham- pagne, stated "I want Inter- national Youth Year to em- phasize the wonderful things that young people do; there has been too much emphasis on the problems of youth. All of us need to work with them to integrate their concerns and interests with those of other groups; we, and they, need action, not more research and study and statistics".
