HUGH MORENZ Jamie Baker and Alex Russell were on the Boy Scout camp out this past weekend at the Pinery. Personals Last weekend Dick and An- nie Zielman and Angie spent the weekend in Leamington, and while there visited An- nie's sister, Susan Janzen, and her brother Bill and Ellen Communion at Saintsbury By MRS. HEBER DAVIS Rev. Peter Derrick was in charge of Thanksgiving and Holy Communion Service at St. Patrick's Sunday morning. He spoke to the children on the challenge of following and becoming more like Christ. Mr. W. Lambourne was guest soloist accompanied by Mrs. Tom Kooy on the organ. Mrs. Wayne Carroll was pianist. Rev. Derrick took his test from Philippians 2, 1-13. The church was decorated with corn, flowers and fruit. Following the service Mr. Lambourne and Mrs. Archie Sinclair London was dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carroll. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Larry Greenlee and family Lucan, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Greenlee and family, Mr. and Mrs. Knip were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greenlee. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mac- Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Noels, Lucan, Jack Dickens Exeter and Mrs. Mabel Needham, Lucan with Mrs. Mary Davis. Mr. and Mrs. J. MacGillivray, Ferndale with Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray and Courtney. A number of seniors from Lucan attended a social after- noon with the Granton seniors last Wednesday. All reported a happy gathering. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Carrier, Detroit spent the weekend with their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carroll. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Davis returned home Monday. They spent the past three weeks touring Western Canada. WI meets at Hurondale Hurondale Institute held their first meeting of the season on September 26. President Fern Dougall open- ed the meeting with a poem. Assistant secretary Marjorie Oke reported on the June anji August bus trips, the financial report and some up coming events. The London area conven- tion will be November 1 and 2 in St. Marys. Members may see Ken Campbell showing his Atlan- tic crossing October 9 at 8 p.m. in Seaforth. A workshop on stress will be at the Maitland Golf and Country flub in Goderich, Thursday, November 8, 9:30-4:00. Cost of the class is $20. Twenty five dollars was donated to South Huron Hospital Tag Day and life memberships will be presented to district officers. Eilleen MBthers was chairlady for a program with Lorraine Alexander giving the motto. Marilynn Pym gave interesting facts on New Brunswick. Lena Kirkland in- troduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Miners of Exeter who talked of her school teaching days in the north, when she was a young girl. This was very interesting She was thanked by Alma Etherington on behalf of all A new idea on making a Christmas tree from wire hangers as a form was demonstrated by Alma Ether- ington and enjoyed by all. Janzen and family. Also visited with their daughter Susie and Wayne Robson, grandson Colin, of Essex. On Sunday the families attended the opening of a new Men- nonite church in Leamington, and then attended a family dinner at another sisters, Helen Stadler. A number from this area at- tended the International Ploughing match in Well- ington County this past week. Recent visitors with Dick and Annie Zielman and fami- ly were cousins, Corny and Hilda Paetkau, from Dundas, Saskatchewan. Don, Sharon and Jamie Baker, hosted a family dinner at their home, Sunday, September 23, for Don's sister Sandra and her husband, Tony Regier of Detroit on the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary. The Regier's youngest daughter Jill also celebrated her 5th birthday at this time. Others attending were Ken and Ortha Baker and Garry, Dave and Marilyn Durand and family of St. Joseph area, Ken, Carol, Shellie and Tracy Baker, of Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Snyder, of Wallenstein, and Ferman and Leota Snyder, visited Sunday with the mens brother, Aaron Snyder, in Sarnia. Visitors during the week and Sunday with Milton and Eva Sweitzer were their cousin Velma Russell from Dashwood, daughter Sandra Campbell and twin grand- children Kim and Kelly from Exeter and Milton's sister Ila and Verne Sharpe, Parkhill. ,ai-a]R:. KIRKTON DESSERT — The Kirkton Women's Institute served dinner to 95 visitors from Elgin county Tuesday on their return from the International plowing match.
