A bus load of seniors left
here September 11 for Mon-
trose, Michigan to visit
seniors there. Arriving there,
the hosts once again provided
a delicious noon meal.
A special thank you goes to
president Harold Guilfoyle for
making the plans for this trip.
The next afternoon the hap-
py gang seniors were ready
for euchre in the town hall
with prizes going to Margaret
Carter, Jean McCallum, Lor-
rain and Koland Neil, Mar-
jorie Davison and Janet Rose.
More euchre September 26
followed by the Masonic
supper.
Recent visitors with Irene

a number of relatives during
their visit here.
Clandeboye Institute
delighted the Craigholme
residents with a program con-
sisting of skits and music on
Wednesday afternoon. To
complete the afternoon,
homemade cookies were
served and enjoyed by all.
Although this item is a wee
bit late reaching you, I'm sure
you'll be glad to hear about it.
On August 8 Frank Turner,
a highly respected resident of
Craigholme Nursing Home,
reached his 9oth birthday.
Several days prior to the ac-
tual date, son Ray of Win-
nipeg, contacted the
Craigholme staff asking them
to prepare two birthday cakes
for his dad to share with
residents and staff.
Frank was taken totally by
surprise with this act of kind-
ness. All enjoyed the treats.
The staff replied "we keep
secrets" when asked how all
this came about.
Mr. Turner is quite alert,
has a good memory, gets
about with no cane and is
looking forward to next
birthday.
Esther Craven and Betty
Gilbert returned home from a
holiday in Edinburgh,
Scotland on a grand tour with
the Ontario Massed Legion
Pipes and ')rums. Both ladies
report a wonderful trip.
