In their second game
played in Parkhill, Crediton
lost to a disappointing 6-5
score. Errors and ner-
vousness caused a lot of pro-
blems defensively as the
ladies had no problem with
their bats.
Leading Crediton at the
plate was Debbie Lord with
two doubles and a single. Fay
Schenk had a successful night
as she got on base all three
times up to bat. Brenda Curry
and Karen Williams pounded
out long balls for two triples
and two hits apiece were hit
by Teresa VanRaay, Wilma
Lagerwerf and Tammy
Regier.
Pitching for Crediton was
Kelly Heywood.
In the last and final game in
the semi-final division, the
Cowgirls came on strong in
the second, third and fourth
inning to take a 11-3 lead. The
Crediton squad was excited
and knew they had to win to
go on in the playoffs but the
last three innings saw
Parkhill inch their way up
and tie the score at 11-11.
Teresa VanRaay with her
ability to come through in the
crunch batted out a triple and
Tammy Regier pounded her
home with another long ball
to take the win 12-11.
Leading Crediton at the
plate were Wilma Lagerwerf
and Debbie Lord with two
doubles and a single. Teresa
VanRaay, Brenda Curry and
Tammy Regier had two hits
apiece while Karen Williams
and Brenda Wilds helped the
cause with one hit apiece.
