Dashwood couple back
from northern jaunt
By MRS. IRVIN RADER
Mr.and Mrs.Ray Raderand
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader,
Dorchester, spent a most in-
teresting two weeks motoring
through Northern Ontario,
touring the huge pulp and
paper mill at Dryden, then on
to Edmonton where they
visited with their niece,
Karen Rader.
A day spent in Jasper and
Banff national Parks includ-
ed a climb up Whistlers
mountain where you could
throw snowballs in July. A
trip to the ice fields farther
along cooled everyone. This
has been the hottest summer
the west has experienced for
some time. The temperature
being ninety degrees. Crops
are very poor in most parts
from lack of rain. A visit to
the Calgary Zoo took one back
into the dinosaur age.
Coming home via U.S.A.
gave them a chance to see the
geysers and paint pots in
Yellowstone park as well as
seeing Old Faithful erupt. The
mammoth hot springs is very
interesting in color and
design, Mount Rushmore is
unique with its carvings on
the mountain top.
A tour through the caverns
on the Lewis and Clarke trails
was most educational but a
long walk up the mountain to
them. A visit to Wall Drug
took one back to the days of
the old west.
It was great but Ontario
and Huron County are still the
best place to live in our
opinion.
