It open- ed, June 25, 1961, and provided four, four -bed wards, bringing total capacity to 52 adult patients. The new wing also included a solarium, medicine room, treatment quarters, conference room and storage. In the full basement, the board provided for a record library, a Targe board room, laboratory, locker rooms, laundry receiving room and small kitchen. This time, Hon. Matthew Dymond, MD, Ontario Minister of Health, was the guest speaker at the opening, and Mrs. R.N. Creech cut the ribbon. THE EAST WING was added in June, 1961. It provided 16 more beds, a solarium, medicine room, conference room, treatment quarters and storage facilities. - South Huron Hospital for being helpful to our township residents for the past 30 years.
