Times-Advocate, 1983-10-19, Page 2Page 2 Time= -Advocate, October 19, 1983 Blood Ietting attracts 268 donors from area A very successful Red Cross blood donor clinic is over. Sponsored by the Ausable River Nomads the clinic at South Huron District High School Wednesday attracted 268 donors. With 23 deferrals a total of 245 pints of blood were given. Nomads convener Marie Brunzlow pleased with the turnout said, "The clinic would have flopped if it hadn't been for the excellent turnout of high school and Centralia College students. They came forward when the need was required." Mrs. Brunzlow continued, "With more and more major operations being done in larger hospitals. the Red Cross requires more units of blood than ever before. Our quota was 260 which isn't high for this area if more people would take a few minutes to give." Clinics in 1984 again spon- sored by the Ausable River Nomads will be held on May 9 and October 10. - The local convener conclud- ed, "We will again sponsor the clinics next year, but, without donors these clinics will not be continued. Show you care." The Nomads wish to thank SHDHS principal Bruce Shaw and the staff for the use of the school gym, Howard Holtzmann of A&H, Tuckey Beverages, Frayne's and the merchants who displayed posters and the United Church Women.
