The boys want their toys and the girls want their pearls. The kids want to go sledding so they make their bed- ding. fhe parents want to rest but the kid is being a pest. The kids do the dishes so they get their wishes. The kids can't rest because Santa's the best. The parents can't sleep because the children leap. The kids open their toys with a great deal of noise. The kids are sad, it's done, they can't have any more fun. The parents are glad they can rest, The kids think the presents are -the best. Centralia 228-6638 The Day I Wrecked Christmas By Travis O'Neil McGOlivray Public School Its Christmas Eve, I can't get to sleep But then was a noise, a crash, and a creak. I ran down the stairs to see what it was, Santa was there, and then we both paused. He broke into a sprint and so did 1, He ran pretty fast for an old chubby guy! Around the table, around and around Then straight out the door and flat on the ground. He had slipped on the ice, Oh! What a fall, He might not be clever after it all. I felt so bad, so glum, so sad, For I had hurt Santa and he woald be mad! Knocked out on the ice, a sight for sore eyes, Would bring millions of children, minions of cries: A toss and a turn, Santa awakes, I gave him my hand, he gave it a shake. It's okay Travis," said a low jolly voice, "Of all the good boys, you're my first choice!" He twinkled his eyes so big and so blue, And said "Merry Christmas! •I won't forget you." My name is Lazy. I am the head elf at the North Pole. There is lots to do before Christmas. I feed the reindeer nutri- tious food like lettuce, carrots and peas. The reindeers' names are Rudolph, Dancer, Cupid and Comet. The elves make toys like planes, trucks, cars, tools and teddy bears for peo- ple who are afraid of the dark. The elves make sparkling cookies for Santa. Santa makes sure that everything is in the sleigh on time. Santa makes sure that every one of the elves is working. Santa stays in his house for a rest before his big long trip. When he comes back from his long trip, Santa praises his elves at what a wonderful job each elf did. After Christmas, the elves have pillow fights and have a good sleep until March.
