with twe babies in it, explaining that since he had
no place of. his own, he wanted to stay with Jesus
but had nothing to offer as -a gift, except to lie in
the manger with him and keep: him warm. The
children then sang 'The Little Drummer Boy,
accompanied by Anna Keys and. Harry Van
Bergen on the drum. The Gospel lesson was taken
from Luke, the storyof the angel Gabriel visiting

Service award

what the news meant to Mary and what it means
to use
The service ended with the :unison: commission-
ing: with the Advent blessings of hope, peace, joy
and loveSuiding our way, : we leave this place
ready to greet the Christ child into our hearts,
our. homes and our daily lives.
Among the festive Christmas 'decorations in the
sanctuary, the result of Helen Keys' creative gifts,
a beautiful pink azalea plant was placed in loving
memory of Muriel Grigg. Birthday wishes go out
to David Rathwell and Bertha Taylor. The Open
House at the manse attracted. the interest of many
and was a great success. Elly and Harry were
pleased to welcome congregation members,
neighbors and friends, and exprsed their grati-
tude for the work that has been done. A special
thank you to the UCW from both churches who
supplied all the Christmas goodies. Those who
