Silver stick winners
The Stephen Township Atom Rep team recently won the Regional Silver StickTournament in Wingham. Front

Panther wrestlers
win more medals
in St. Catharines
St. Catharines — Seven
South Huron District High
School wrestlers brought
home medals from last
week's meet in,St.
Catharines.
Darryl Weiss, Silvana
Roduner and Matt Bell
won silver medals while
Matt Martin, Nathan
Spivey, Sisophan
Chansamone and Brad
Turnbull won bronze
medals.
In all, 20 South Huron
wrestlers participated in
the meet.

EXETER — The South
Huron District High School
junior boys basketball team
is slicing and dicing the
competition.
At home Monday, the
juniors crushed Clinton
Central Huron 75-24 in a
good overall effort.
Kieran O'Rourke led the
way offensively with 25
points followed by Jordan
Shantz with 15 and Lance
Bedard with seven. Nine of
the team's 10 players con-
tributed to the scoring.
The midgets played great
defence and jumped out to
a quick lead they continued
to add to ina68-23 win.
Justin Hayter played an
excellent game scoring 16
points followed by Jake
Romphf with 12 and Chad
Smith with 10. Jesse
McCann, Cam Murray and
Everette Dionne also put in
good efforts.
The senior Panthers did-
n't fare as well against
Central Huron despite
being up by 14 points at
the half. South Huron
couldn't hold on to the lead
and eventually fell 62-52.
Mike Blois led the way
with 11 points while Kyle
Farwell and Ben Forrest
added 10 each.
At home Dec. 15, the
midgets erased an early
deficit versus St. Anne's to
easily win 52-39. South
Huron held St. Anne's to
four points in the third
quarter to take the lead.
Top scorers were Smith
with 12 points, Murray
with seven and Dionne with
six.
The juniors clobbered St.
Anne's 69-32 in a game
that saw all 10 Panthers
score. Mark Laye led the
way with 21 points fol-
lowed by Shantz with 13
and O'Rourke with 10.
The seniors played hard
versus St. Anne's but lost
48-45. Ryan Beattie had 11
points, .Farwell nine and
Forrest and Les Vincent
each had seven. Aran
Beattie and Tom

The teams will be on hia-
tus till after the Christmas
holidays. The seniors next
play in the Kincardine tour-
nament on Jan. 7-8. The
next Huron league action is
Jan. 12 when South Huron
travels to Seaforth.

out flat and went on to lose 4- I .The Lakers scored two goals in the first period
and another early in the second before the Irish could get on the board mid -way

Port scored its last goal into an empty Lucan net in the dying seconds of the game
while shorthanded. "We just couldn't get much offence going;' coach Bill Bourne
said.The loss breaks Lucan's six game unbeaten streak."One loss for the month
isn't bad," Bourne quipped on his team's success in December."We hope to finish
the year strong." Lucan's record is 17-7-1, good for 35 points and first place in the
Morenz Division.The Irish host Belmont tonight (Dec. 22) at 8:15 p.m. and
Belmont on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in a rescheduled game. Lucan Arena hosted a Jr. B
game between St. Marys and Petrolia Saturday (the Irish are St. Marys' affiliate).
Petrolia won 4-2. Former Irish players Justin Mulligan, Derek Graansma and Mike
Boyce were on hand and current Irish players Mike Burns, Roy Davis, Ben Dobbie,
