The Hensall Kinsmen cash draw winners were as fol- lows: Mike Hoffman $500, Iva Reid $250, Julian Bayley $100, Marg Cole $50, Joanne Bell $50. At Hensall United Church Pirie Mitchell's message was "Annunciation". Mark Garlough was the organist for the ministry of song. After the welcome Cecil Pepper and Raye Jacobe were the readers with Bill Gibson lighting the Advent candle. The greeter was Pat Pryde who also lit the Peace candle. Garry Alderdice and Larry Elder received the offering: Several hymns were sung. A poinsettia was given by Tom and Muriel Dalrymple in memory of Wilmer and Jean Ferguson. Prayers are asked for the Whitechurch charge. The UNICEF col- lection was $48.50 collect- ed by the Junior Congregation. There will be a Communion and Baptism service on Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m. A nomi- nating committee meet on Dec. 29 at 7 . pm. Dec. 29 is the deadline for givings to be credited for the year ending Dec. 31, 1999. The Junior Congregation pre- sented a play called "Time Travellers" to a large and enthusiastic audience. The presenters were Dana Martin and Betsy Rowcliffe. Pirie Mitchell portrayed the Professor, Kaki() Jinks portrayed the child. The Time Travellers were portrayed by Lauren Jinks, Dana Martin, Kristin Pryde, and Jasmine Westlake -Powers. The townspeople were portrayed by Sarah Stoll, Sherri Moir and Ryan Consitt. Mary was por- tryed by Artemysia Fr giskatos. The shep- herds were portrayed by Ryan Jacobi and Dimitris Fragiskatos. The angels were portrayed by Maggie Jinks, Amanda Schnieder, Stephan Troyer, Morgan Duke, Tiffany Falkner, Jane Henney, Kayla Parker, Stephanie Pratt, Amber Reid, and Kristina Troyer. The shepherds were portrayed by Luke Alexander, Sean Consitt, Warren Elder, Jordan Glenn, Tyler Glenn, Kyle Mann, Darryn Parker, Jared Pratt, Noah Pratt, Jason Schnieder, Leelan Westlake -Powers. The Magi were portrayed by Brandon Consitt and Ben Hovius. Chuck Mallette was the organist. The directors were Laura Lee Schnieder, Joanne Rowcliffe, Susan Stoll, Denise Troyer. Santa Claus arrived with treats. Refreshments followed. Don't forget the Sunday service on Dec. 26 at 10 a.m. At Hensall Carmel Presbyterian Church Tracey's message was "Mary Mother of God". Dorothy Taylor and Joyce Pepper i, plied the music. Greg Bahr() lit the Advent candle. Gloria Taylor had a special time for the children. The offer- ing was received by Bob Bell and Harry Smith. Gifts were presented to Tracey, Joyce, and Dorothy. Don't forget the Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Christmas trees will be collected in the village of Hensall, on Mon., Jan. 3. Trees must be free of all decorations, tinsel and plastic tree bags. POLICE BRIEFS Second man charged VANASTRA — The Huron P have charged a second man in connection with a Dec. 11 assault at a Vanastra apartment complex that sent two people to hospital with knife wounds. On Dec. 13, the OPP returned to the St. Charles Place building and arrested Paul Epema, 32, of Vanastra, Const. Don Shropshall said. Epema is charged with assault causing bodily harm and will appear in Goderich court Jan. 24. The OPP had earlier arrested Wayne Smith, 36, of Toronto who appeared in Goderich court for a bail hearing on Dec. 13. Smith was remanded into custody and will return to court to face charges of aggravated assault and assault- with a weapon on Dec. 20. A 42 -year-old woman received a 10" gash to her left upper arm and a 39 -year- old man who attempted to help her received multiple minor facial injuries and a broken ankle sustained during the struggle. Both victims were first taken to Clinton Public Hospital and later trans- ferred to a London hospital. The OPP. continues its investigation.
