Hensall Kinsmen make donations

HENSALL - The Hensall
Kinsmen held their first
Dec. meeting last Sat.
evening with president
Marvin Taylor presiding.
$450 was donated to the
Palliative Care Program.
$50 was donated to the
Ontario March of Dimes.
$600 was donated to the
Hensall Scouts. $500 was
donated to the Huron
County Christmas Bureau.
The Hensall Kinsmen cash
draw winners were as fol-

At Hensall United
Church Pirie Mitchell's
message was
"Annunciation". Mark
Garlough was the organist
for the ministry of song.
After the welcome Cecil

were the readers with Bill
Gibson lighting the Advent
candle. The greeter was
Pat Pryde who also lit the
Peace candle. Garry
Alderdice and Larry Elder
received the offering:
Several hymns were sung.
A poinsettia was given by
Tom and Muriel
Dalrymple in memory of
Wilmer and Jean
Ferguson. Prayers are
asked for the Whitechurch
charge. The UNICEF col-
lection was $48.50 collect-
ed by the Junior
Congregation. There will
be a Communion and
Baptism service on Dec.
24 at 7:30 p.m. A nomi-
nating committee meet on
Dec. 29 at 7 . pm. Dec. 29
is the deadline for givings
to be credited for the year
ending Dec. 31, 1999. The
Junior Congregation pre-
sented a play called "Time
Travellers" to a large and
enthusiastic audience. The
presenters were Dana
Martin and Betsy
Rowcliffe. Pirie Mitchell
portrayed the Professor,
Kaki() Jinks portrayed the
child. The Time Travellers
were portrayed by Lauren
Jinks, Dana Martin,
Kristin Pryde, and
Jasmine Westlake -Powers.
The townspeople were
portrayed by Sarah Stoll,
Sherri Moir and Ryan
Consitt. Mary was por-
tryed by Artemysia
Fr giskatos. The shep-
herds were portrayed by

were portrayed by Maggie

Christmas trees will be
collected in the village of
Hensall, on Mon., Jan. 3.
Trees must be free of all
decorations, tinsel and
plastic tree bags.
POLICE BRIEFS
Second man charged
VANASTRA — The Huron P have
charged a second man in connection
with a Dec. 11 assault at a Vanastra
apartment complex that sent two people
to hospital with knife wounds.
On Dec. 13, the OPP returned to the St.
Charles Place building and arrested Paul
Epema, 32, of Vanastra, Const. Don
Shropshall said. Epema is charged with
assault causing bodily harm and will
appear in Goderich court Jan. 24.
The OPP had earlier arrested Wayne
Smith, 36, of Toronto who appeared in
Goderich court for a bail hearing on Dec.
13. Smith was remanded into custody
and will return to court to face charges of
aggravated assault and assault- with a
weapon on Dec. 20.
A 42 -year-old woman received a 10"
gash to her left upper arm and a 39 -year-
old man who attempted to help her
received multiple minor facial injuries
and a broken ankle sustained during the
struggle. Both victims were first taken to
Clinton Public Hospital and later trans-
ferred to a London hospital.
The OPP. continues its investigation.
