Preparations being made for turkey supper

Upcoming activities
All youth in grades four
and up are welcome to
attend the Youth Group
on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at
Thames Road United
Church.
Children and youth are
also invited to the next
Fun Night at Centralia
United Church which will
be held on Nov. 24.
Stewards at Centralia
United Church will com-
plete their final prepara-
tions this week for the
annual turkey supper
which will be held on Sat..
Nov. 20. There will be a
seating at 5 p.m. and 6:30
p.m. Tickets are still
available from any of the
Stewards including Brent
Caslick or Rob Essery at
228-6992. They are $10.
for adults and $5. for chil-
dren.
A joint Stewards meet-
ing will be held Nov. 22 at
Centralia United Church
to discuss next year's
budget.
The Exeter Christian
Reformed Church will
host a partnership fund-
raising banquet on Nov.
22 at 7 p.m. which is
sponsored by The Bible
League to provide Bibles
for people being persecut-

Santa has asked his helpers at the Exeter

print them in the
Christmas editions
on December 16 and

Euchre party proceeds go to Clinton hospital

VARNA CORRESPONDENT
VARNA - Instead of the regular Stan
Lee Club meeting, Ruth Johnston, and
Margaret Hayter arranged a progressive
euchre party. The proceeds were given
to Clinton Hospital. Due to inclement
weather the turn out was rather disap-
pointing. High prizes went to Gladys
Peck and Alec Ostrom. Consolation
prizes to Marj Stirling and Marg
McClymont . Elva Peck had the most
lone hands. Many door prizes were
given out. Everyone enjoyed a bountiful
lunch.
The next get-together will be the
Christmas Meeting on Wed. Dec. 1
beginning with dinner at six oclock at
the Blue Fountain in Clinton. If you wish
to go contact Charles Reid or Ivan
McClymont by Nov. 28.
Church Service was in Varna on
Sunday and will be in Goshen this
Sunday. The flowers in the sanctuary
were in loving memory of Jaime Faulds.
The community's thoughts and prayers
are with Colleen and her family.

session at the Varna Church at 9:30 am.

At 7 pm the same night the Christmas
decorating will be done. There is a
board meeting in Varna on Nov. 25 at
8pm. Nov. 28 is the first Sunday of
Advent and volunteers are needed to
light the Advent Candles each week.
Please give Elly Van Bergen a ring.
There will be a White Gift Christmas
Concert in Brucefleld on November 28
at 7pm.
