New Exeter
library to be
bigger?
By Craig Bradford
TIMES ADVOCATE STAFF
EXETER — Those push-
ing for a new Exeter
library may get more
than they bargained for.
At last week's meeting,
Huron County council
found out the planned
4,700 sq. ft. new library
was half as big as what
an economic impact study
and the population served
showed.
Stratford architect Terry
Marklevitz, county head
librarian Beth Ross and
Exeter chief administra-
tive officer Rick Hundey
will try to find ways to
reduce the 9,800 sq: ft.
figure down to between
6,000-7,000 sq. ft.
They l do that icy cut-
ting reader seating areas
and staff working spaces
as well as shelving plans
for the library to have its
own washrooms and
meeting spaces.
Since the new library
plans has it attached to
town hall, library users
will be able to use the
town hall's existing wash-
rooms and conference
rooms.

Moyer parting
ways with town
By Craig Bradford
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
EXETER — Town council is saying goodbye to a long-
time employee.
Service delivery manager Dave Moyer is leaving his
post with the town as of Dec. 10. Originally hired as the
town building inspector about 12 years ago, Moyer
took on the new position as service delivery manager
about a year ago.
Council released this statement after its closed door
special meeting Monday night: "Council confirms as of
Dec. 10 Dave Moyer will no longer be employed by the
Town of Exeter. Irreconcilable differences between Mr.
Moyer and the council have prompted this action. In
view of the issues involved council has authorized a
severance payment. The payment is viewed as reason-
able and expedient given the circumstances surround-_
ing the situation. Please keep um mind that this is a per-
sonnel
ersonnel issue and as such the background details are
confidential. It would be inappropriate for the council
to discuss or disclose any further details or informa-
tion."
The severance package includes three weeks pay for
each of the 12 years Moyer has, been a town employee,
ve officer Rick Hundey said. The ser-
er position calls for a annual salary
between $46,743-$53,754.
Mayor Ben Hoogenboom continued council's tight lip
'stance when contacted by the Times -Advocate Tuesday
i rning.
"I•doa't really want to go into the specifics," he said.
