POLICE BRIEFS
The OPP discovered a
disturbing trend when
they clamped down on
aggressive driving during
the annual Operation
Impact blitz on Oct. 2.
Officers targeted the
high-risk driver who dri-
ves aggressively, doesn't
wear a seatbelt and who
continues to drink and
drive. During the 24-hour
blitz, 82,671 vehicles
were stopped across
Ontario and 1,319 seat-
belt tickets were issued.
Though it appears more
people than ever are
buckling up, the OPP did
arrest 50 impaired dri-
vers, a significant
increase from last year.
Dawe opened with "The
Thanksgiving Letter".
The secretary's and trea-
surer's reports were
given and adopted.
Audrey MacGregor
reminded everyone of
the Fall Rally in
Crediton, Oct. 21. Please
wear night attire.
Plans are being final-
ized for the annual
bazaar Nov. 13.
Meat pies will be made
Oct. 6, Oct. 27 and Nov.

ducted by Marg Consitt,
