In the garden are differ- ent varieties of trees, wildflowers, bird feeders and bird houses.The community project is entering its second school year at Usborne and is part of the International Peace Gardens. Exeter UCW hear about adoption EXETER - The evening unit of Exeter United U.C.W. met Oct. 4. Helen Coates intro- duced guest speaker, Karen Willis: Willis told of the many experiences she and her husband Ed had as they travelled to China to adopt their little Nicole three years ago. Eventually the Willis' organized their own foundation to help other couples with adoption of Chinese children. Following a question period Willis was thanked by Melva Ecker. Unit leader, Shirley POLICE BRIEFS The OPP discovered a disturbing trend when they clamped down on aggressive driving during the annual Operation Impact blitz on Oct. 2. Officers targeted the high-risk driver who dri- ves aggressively, doesn't wear a seatbelt and who continues to drink and drive. During the 24-hour blitz, 82,671 vehicles were stopped across Ontario and 1,319 seat- belt tickets were issued. Though it appears more people than ever are buckling up, the OPP did arrest 50 impaired dri- vers, a significant increase from last year. Dawe opened with "The Thanksgiving Letter". The secretary's and trea- surer's reports were given and adopted. Audrey MacGregor reminded everyone of the Fall Rally in Crediton, Oct. 21. Please wear night attire.
