The Fury started- the
game on the right foot by
executing their game
to play defensively
allow Simcoe to break fret
into the open space.
Exeter wasn't able to
hold off the hosts for long
and the goals started to
come quickly. By halftime
the score was 6-0.
In the second half Exeter
tried their best to mount
an attack but were turned
back by Simcoe's defence.
Chris Saunders had a cou-
ple of nice runs up the
sideline for the Fury and
his persistence paid off .as
he stripped the defender of
the ball and walked in on
the keeper,, picking the
corner to .ruin Simcoe's
shutout bid:
Leading 10-1 late in the
game; Simcoe showed poor
sportsmanship by bringing
their keeper up to score a°
goal that they really didn't -
need, McFalls said.
The loss drops Exeter's
record to 4-10-3. Despite
the loss, the Fury have a
lock ;:on fifth place in the
Third Division West, well
ahead of CPA and
Taxandria.

the season is at home

In all, Lucan will put 10
Lucan players on the ice
this season out of the 25 -
man roster plus six other
players from the rural
area surrounding Lucan.
"Our depth locally is
pretty solid," Bukala said.
The team will have a
nice mix of older and
young players and Bukala
said the squad will play
much like it did in '98/99
with a focus on defence.
"We're optimistic we'll
'be competitive," he said.
Another plus for Lucan
is . its stability behind the
bench: Bukala and
Bourne will both return
for a fourth year. The
Irish are the only Morenz

Thamesford 3-3, doubled
Lambeth 6-3 and tied
Belmont 2-2.
• On the road Sept. 1.4,
the Irish handily beat
Mitchell 7-2 in their first
