Women met Thursday
afternoon, September 9
for their first fall meeting.
Twenty-one women
answered the roll call
with projects they would
like to do in the church.
Ina Flewelling gave the
birthdays since the last
meeting in June so

prayer was given try

Agers held their first
euchre of the season on
September 8 at the
Legion Hall. The winners

hands was a tie between
Harold Finkbeiner and
Cleve Brophy; Men low
Hugh Griffeth.
The next euchre will be
held September 22.
September 5 was the
last outdoor service at
meditation. Hymns jigiggio,
sung accompanfed
piano by Irene Kennedy.
Guest speaker Muriel
Maier spoke about her
three week trip to China
this summer. She was
accompanied by another
retired nurse from
Clinton. They walked the
Great Wall of China, and
were able to drive around
Tien An Men Square as it
was under construction.
They enjoyed a 1 1/2
hour Hovercraft tour on
the Yellow River, a cruise
ship trip on. the Yangtze
River for four days and
saw construction of the
world's largest dam.
They flew home from
Shanghi.
President Joyce
Thompson conducted
business. The date for the
annual upcoming fowl
supper will be November
3.

SHIPKA - 'Happy Birthday" wishes this month to
Mabel Fraser.
Gordon and Rita Bandy, of Arnprior spent a weeks
holidays in August with Willis and Ella Desjardine.
Annie Zielman hosted a family gathering on Aug.,
21 and 22 for her family, Ruth and Jerry Zehr,
Zurich, Susie and Wayne Robson, Essex, Gerald and
Mary Ellen Zielman area, Debbie and Roger Ward,
Thedford, Angie and Mark Bousfield, Simcoe, and
their families.
Get well wishes to Leota Snyder who is presently a
patient at University Hospital, London.
