Toddlerstoys needed for Centralia church nursery

CENTRALIA - Minister
Heather Scott welcomed
everyone back to worship
at Centralia United
Church on September 5.
Her sermon was entitled
'Body Work'. She per-
formed a solo entitled
`Walk With Me'.
Announcements includ-
ed a request for toddler's
toys which are in good
condition but no longer
needed. These toys would
be used by the children in
Centralia nursery.
The Centralia: U.C.W.
met September 2 with
Kay Tripp welcoming
everyone and conducting
the business portion of
the meeting.
Jean Caslick reported
there will be a Fall
Regional. Details concern-
ing date and place will be
forthcoming.
Reports were given by
the secretary and the
treasurer.
Kay Tripp, Aldeen
Skinner and Becky
Harrett were in charge of
the program. Harrett
gave some amusing
moments which occur in
everyone's life.
School Day Reflections
was conducted by Skinner
with everyone telling
about an incident from
their earliest school days.
Tripp introduced guest
speaker Gail La Plante, a
wardrobe coordinator
with Weekenders.
Her presentation was
interesting as she
removed garments from a
tote bag that turned into a
jacket. She was thanked
and presented ,with a
plant.
Lunch was prepared
and served by Dorothy
Rollings, Janet Hicks and
Judy Mills.
Upcoming activities
Rally Sunday will be
held at Centralia on
September 12. The
Sunday School Invites
everyone to attend a lun-
cheon following the wor-
ship.
Donations will be grate-
fully accepted and will be
forwarded to assist with
disaster relief work in
Turkey.
A joint Session meeting
will be held September 9
at 8 p.m. at Zion West
United Church.
The Plowing Match in
Huron County is quickly
approaching. A special

SAINTSBURY - It was a
busy weekend for all the
young people in the area
getting ready to begin
another school year.
Several of the families in
the community attended
the Decoration Day at St.
James, Clandeboye, on
-the weekend.
Winners
announced
HURON COUNTY - At
the recent Zurich Bean
Festival, the Huron
County Pork Producers
conducted a free draw as
part of their sampling
booth.
The lucky winners were
announced at the
Directors' September
meeting in Clinton.
Dorothy Stephen of
Exeter and Martha
Hopkins of Goderich will
each receive a half pork
carcass (approx. 80 lbs.)
Approximately 2 500
samples were given out
during the festival and it
,is hoped,that everyone.
