Ivan and Margaret
McClymont once again
hosted the annual G.A.
Henty gathering at their
home and the Bayfield
Village Inn on Aug. 20,
21 and 22. Ehthusiasts of
the famous 19th century
British author and war
correspondent attended
from Maine, South
Carolina, Virginia,
Alberta and Ontario.
Henty books sold by the
hundred of thousands
are now collected not
only for their historical
tales .but many were pro-
duced in beautiful pictor-
ial covers that are much
sought after today. Of
the hundred or more
titles, quite a number are
still in publication and
are used extensively by
home schoolers to teach
history rather than the
political correct versions
taught in the regular
school system today.
The gathering opened
• Friday night with supper
at the Inn followed by an
open house and campfire
at the McClymont farm.
The annual boot sale
and swap meet took
place at the Inn on
Saturday followed by
book reviews on "All But
Lost", the rarest of
Henty's adult novels,
"Captain Bayley's Heir",
a tale of the California
gold fields in 1849 and
"With Wolfe in Canada",,
a story of thecapture of
Louisbourg and Quebec.

New England book deal-
er and collector gave a
presentation on the
Scribner and Welford
U.S. editions of the
1880's.
The formal session
ended with a presenta-
tion on variant covers on
Canadian editions of
Henty. Meals on
Saturday and a farewell
breakfast on Sunday
were all held at the Inn.

TRADITIONAL STYLING ENHANCES BASEMENT ENTRY DESIGN
A combination hip and gable roof, feature bay windows, keystone and brick accents, and an elaborate
high arched entranceway create a stately facade reminiscent of the English countryside.
A den, just inside the front entrance, would make an ideal home office. The laundry room, just behind
the den, provides ample shelving and a separate wash basin. The rest of the basement could be
finished to your liking.
Upstairs, a large living room boasts a feature bay window and a cozy gas fireplace. The kitchen and
nook are partially open to the family room, offering a spacious atmosphere for less formal gatherings.
French doors lead from the family room to the sundeck.
The master bedroom has private access to the deck as well as his and hers closets and a three piece
ensuite.
Plans for BG -121 may be obtained for $375.00 for a package of five complete sets of working
and $30.00 for each additional set of the same plan. Allow $20.00 extra to cover the cost of ourier
and handling (B.C. residents add 7% PST to plan total.) All Canadian residents add 7% GST to plan
total plus courier.
This is one of our new designs. Many innovative plans are now available in our NEW catalogue:
Basement Entry and Cathedral Entry, which is available for $8.51, including postage and handling g and
