Everyone also enjoyed the opportunity to hear him
sing the solo 'Deeper and Deeper' accompanied by his
wife Ellen.
Lots of bargains
Centralia residents were joined by other shoppers
looking for bargains on May 15. The weather was per-
fect for the community yard sales where busy shoppers
found deals on everything from crafts to furniture, toys
and games to clothes. Shoppers young and old were
pleased with their purchases as they walked around
the village.

Mott on their recent move to the village. We know
they'll rind that they have wonderful neighbours.
Congratulations to Kim Southcott and Brad Johns on
the recent addition to their family. Their son, Dylan,

ZURICH - Zurich Golden Agers met on May 10 at
the Hays Township Hall. President Lottie chaired the
meeting with 16 members and one visitor present.
The roll call and financial report were given.
The Seniors convention is in Kingston on August 9
to 11. President Lottie and secretary. Josephine
Denomme will be voting delegates at the conven-
tion. The June meeting will. have a . potluck supper
and all the participants to the games are welcome.
The Zurich club has a very good representation at
the Senior Games: five pin bowling (5), lawn bowl-
ing (3), walkers (2), shuffleboard (2), euchre (2),
solo (2), bridge (2), pepper (2), crokinole (4),
The next progressive euchre is May 31 at the
Township Hall. This is a change of date due to
Victoria Day. on May 24. This will be the last pro-
gressive euchre party until September.
There is a Seniors Jubilee to be held at the Roy.
Thompson hall in Toronto on August 20. Anyone
over age 55 are welcome to join in.
Winner of the 50/50 draw was_ visitor Ina Russell.
Irene Hoffman had a humou ous .reading. Lunch
was served by the committee of Irene and Leo
Hoffman and Marie and Mozart Gelinas. Everyone
enjoyed card games.

Upcoming activities
Choir practices continue .at Thames Road Church on
May 23 at 7:30 p.m. Gary Alan Price will be the guest
speaker at the joint worship for the Community of
Churches on May 30.
The Sunday School at Zion West United Church will
celebrate their anniversary on June 6. A picnic will be
held following worship at the church.

USBORNE TWP. — While on •patrol, OPP noticed at
approximately 2:30 a.m. a vehicle parked and running
at a lane way along Conc. 2-3. A 22 -year-old Zurich
woman was charged with impaired care and control of
a motor vehicle.
