Centennials win second straight game
CHATHAM --- The
eteter_Centennial senior
men's soccer team con-
tinues to shine in its First
Division debut season
with a 2-1 win over host
Chatham on Sunday.
Luke Sims scored on a
penalty kick for the Cents
in the first half with a
perfectly placed shot.
Dave Farquhar was
taken down heavily in the
penalty area to draw the
shot.
Exeter's Mark Brintnell
made 42 -0 15 minutes
into the second half on a
miscue by the Chatham
goalkeeper. Chatham's
keeper was then thrown
from the game.
Some poor marking by
the Exeter defence
resulted the Chatham
goal.
"It was a very rough
game but Exeter kept
their composure to walk
away with the road win,"
Cents coach John
Rasenberg said. • "Exeter
has some bruises to heal
before next game."
Not all Exeter players
kept their cool. Scott
Rasenberg was tossed
out of the game after
receiving two yellow
cards.
Team spokesperson
George McEwan said his
team didn't play as well
as their first game but
still performed good
enough for the win.
The Cents are 2-0 on
the season and next host
the Latinos on May 30, 5
p.m., at the Rec Centre
field.
