Zurich Cubs tour the Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton

C.W.L. held a meeting
after Mass for vocations on
April 20.
President Coby
VandenBoomen welcomed
the 31 members. Special
speaker for the evening
was Norma Lindenfield,
who spoke on breast can-
cer.
Patti Hunt read the cor-
respondence while Rose
(.Joe) Regier gave the trea-
surer's report.
Elaine Keller read the
minutes of the last meet-
ing and Julie Gelinas gave
the roll call.
The Precious Life Quilt
that was hanging on dis-
play in the church is now
on its way to Ottawa, for
the March for Life on
Parliament Hill May 14
which is the 30th anniver-
sary of the legalization of
abortion in Canada.
The Grades seven and
eight students at St.
Boniface will be making
their confirmation on May
27 while the Grade two
children will make their
group communion togeth-
er on May 30 with a spe-
cial Mass at 11 a.m.
Carmel Sweeney gave a
report on the recent day of
reflection in Grand Rend.
The group is collecting
useful articles for the
needy on May 31 to June
7.
Joan Regier is the ticket
convenor for the Bean
Festival Quilt. The tickets
are now on sale.
Coby and Mary Jacobs
are attending the C.W.L.
convention in Windsor
from April 26 to 28.
Donna Klopp, region
representative for the
Ladies .Auxiliary. attended
the provincial meeting this
weekend in Toronto.
Representatives from all
over Ontario attended.
Over 70 women attended
a Spring Conference for
the London District at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church
on April 24.
Several K. of C. members
from the area attended a
communion breakfast at
St.Joseph's Parish in
•(:limon on April 26.

meeting will be held at the
Rest home on May 4 at 7

An elimination draw and
dance to raise funds for
the "Save Our Arena"
fund, is planned for May
15 at the Zurich
Community Centre from 8
p.m. to 1 a.m. Advance
tickets cost $10 each and

members of the Bean
Festival committee or
President Jody Durand.
The Women's Institute
meeting will be held at the
Hay Township Hall in
Zurich on May 3 at 1:30
p.m. New president Joan
Smith will be in charge as
Bridget Groot is now the
District president.
Some members of the
Golden Agers, along with
president Lottie Grenier,
attended the annual
spring rally at the Seaforth
Legion on April 14.
The Zurich Cubs, some
parents and leaders, trav-
elled to the Canadian
Warplane Heritage
Museum in Hamilton
recently.
In April a bike rodeo was
held for the Cubs and
Beavers to get their
cycling badges.
The Cubs and Scouts
planted trees at the Huron
District campground and
on April 28 they are going
to tour an elk farm in
Goderich.
They also enjoyed a
nature hike at
Bannockburn
Conservation area recent-
ly. On April 24 some Cubs,
parents and leaders went
to the. Kub Kar Rally in
Palmerston.

A bridal shower was
held for Mary Lynn
Ducharme on April 25 at
the home of parents Mary
and Gerard Ducharme.
Mary -Lynn is the fiance of
Doug Davis of London.
They are to be married in
May.
Tony and Adeline
Denomme attended the
First Communion of their
great-grandson, David
Willsie, at Immaculate
Heart of Mary Church,
Grand Bend on April 25,
along with grandparents
Pat and Evelyn Regier and
family members.
Best wishes for a speedy
recovery are extended to

are recuperating from
recent operations.

Blue Water Rest Home on
